FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (9/3/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Welcome to Tuesday baseball on FanDuel. With football on the minds of most, there is still plenty of money to be made in baseball. As for tonight, we're working with 12 games on the main slate.

There are plenty of pitchers worth considering and it'll be extremely important to nail your SP on a one-pitcher site like FanDuel. On the higher end, there are four aces worth looking at. There are also a few cheap guys worth playing, as the bats on this slate are more than worth paying up for. Let's dive in and find a top play at each position.

Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFSVarney

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Jack Flaherty - STL vs. SFG - $10,000

The Giants are a team we’ve been picking on all year long. We usually do so in their pitcher-friendly home AT&T Park, but we aren’t so lucky tonight. The Giants travel into Busch Stadium to face off with the red hot Cardinals. It’s not a great ballpark for hitting, either, ranking 26th on the season for power. Even on the road, the Giants have ranked 28th in baseball with a team .287 wOBA and 25% strikeout rate. Flaherty has been extremely consistent for the Cardinals, allowing just a .289 combined wOBA with a 23.5% strikeout rate. He’s not expensive on FanDuel, so you’ll still be able to fit as many big bats as you’d like.

Mitch Keller - PIT vs. MIA - $8,000

I know Mitch Keller has been extremely hit or miss, but this match-up is too solid to pass up. The Marlins still rank dead last in baseball against righties with a .281 wOBA while striking out nearly 25% of the time. They’ll now go on the road to PNC Park, which is no great hitting environment. Keller has the upside no doubt, striking out 11+ batters per nine innings. If you’re worried about his ERA, a .450 BABIP is to blame. Things will even out and Keller will rise to the top as one of the best young pitchers in the game.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Freddie Freeman - ATL vs. TOR (Font) - $4,300

This Braves lineup is one we have to target on this slate, sitting at a 6.60 expected run total. Wilmer Font will start the game, with T.J. Zeuch relieving him for the majority of the game. Let's touch on Font first. He's been terrible against lefties, allowing a .352 wOBA and six homers in just 40 innings of work. As for Zeuch, he'll be making his debut, but hasn't been very good in the minors. In AAA, he's allowed a 5.37 xFIP and strikes out just 4.5 batters per nine innings. Freddie Freeman has been one of the best hitters in the league vs righties and is one of the safest bats on the entire slate.

Rafael Devers - BOS vs. MIN (Dobnak) - $4,100

The Red Sox are easily one of the best teams to consider tonight. With a projected total of 6.14, Vegas expects Randy Dobnak to mightily struggle here. He's had a few successful stints, but those came against some pretty terrible offenses. The Red Sox have sported a team .348 wOBA against righties, ranking second in baseball. Devers, in particular, has rocked righties with a .412 wOBA and 21 home runs. He's been even better in Fenway Park, upping that wOBA to .430. Good luck, Randy Dobnak.

Mike Freeman - CLE vs. CWS (Cease) - $2,500

You’re going to need to save money somewhere, and shortstop is a great place to do it. There are certainly a few worthy spend-up options, but that’s at every position. Mike Freeman has been swinging a hot bat of late and is expected to sit in the five spot of the order. With a run expectation well over five runs, this price is just too low for a guy that should get at least two RBI opportunities, if not more. Dylan Cease has allowed a .347 wOBA to righties and his peripherals aren’t headed in the right direction. These Indians will go over-looked and Freeman especially.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Ronald Acuna Jr. - ATL vs. TOR (Font) - $4,200

Ronald Acuna Jr. is my favorite outfielder if you’re forcing me to pay up. Of course there are five or six options worth exploring, but this combo of Font and Zeuch is putrid and facing off with a devastating Braves team at home in a hitter-friendly environment. Acuna Jr. is just as good against both lefties and righties, sporting a .387 wOBA on the season with 3/4 of his homers vs right-handers. The Braves and Red Sox are the top two offenses of this slate and it’ll be between the two that the slate is decided. I’ll have exposure to both, but lean the Braves.

Jason Heyward - CHC vs. SEA (Hernandez) - $2,700

It’s always tough to target Flex Hernandez because of the name factor, but it gets much easier when you look at the numbers. Against lefties, he’s allowed a .344 wOBA and a 1.68 HR/9 while his peripherals are plummeting into the ground. He’s still leaning on his sinker, which has allowed a .371 wOBA over the past month. The Cubs are in win now mode and expected to put up nearly seven runs. Jason Heyward will heat leadoff and is a great way to save on FanDuel.
