We have a surprisingly large Sunday slate today. The "early slate" features 11 games, and that's what we're focusing around. There are plenty of plays at all pricing levels, meaning we have multiple ways to construct lineups.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 9/16/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

FanDuel DFS Pitcher
Justin Verlander - P, vs ARI ($11,700)
Verlander has struggled at times recently, but he owns a 15-9 record with a 2.72 ERA through 31 games. He has scored 55 and 52 fantasy points in his last two games, and he gets a good matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Verlander allowed only one earned run over six innings with eight strikeouts in his only start against Arizona this season. He's also a -185 favorite in a game set at only 7.5 runs.
Nick Pivetta - P, vs MIA ($7,100)
Pivetta has found plenty of fantasy success in Philadelphia this season, boasting a 4-7 record with a 4.27 ERA. More importantly, he owns an 11.0 K/9 through 86.1 innings at home. He gets a great matchup against the Miami Marlins, who he has held to four runs over 15.2 innings this season. Pivetta is a high upside option for a low price tag today.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Ji-Man Choi - C/1B, vs OAK ($3,400)
Choi continues to play at a high level, as he's hitting .273 with a .697 slugging percentage and a 1.072 OPS over his last 10 games. He's also hitting nearly .300 with tremendous power in Tampa Bay this season. Choi owns 0.127 wOBA and 0.09 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching, and he gets a solid matchup against Mike Fiers today.
Travis Shaw - 2B, vs PIT ($3,800)
Second base isn't an elite position for hitters, so getting a powerful player like Shaw at this position is never a bad idea. He gets a decent matchup against Trevor Williams today, and Shaw owns a .546 slugging percentage and a .296 ISO against right-handed pitching. Shaw is also batting cleanup for the Brewers.
Hunter Dozier - 3B, vs MIN ($2,900)
Dozier has finally cooled off for the Royals, but he's still hitting .225 with five extra-base hits and five RBIs over his last 10 games. He's hitting in the middle of the Kansas City offense, and he gets a good matchup against Kyle Gibson today. Dozier is not long a simply plug and play option, but he is a player that can be considered in all leagues as a salary relief play.
Asdrubal Cabrera - SS, vs MIA ($2,700)
Cabrera has one of the oddest price tags on the slate. He's hitting .308 with a .583 slugging percentage and a .958 OPS over his last 10 games, yet he is one of the cheaper shortstops on the slate. He's expected to hit fifth in the Phillies lineup, and he gets a great matchup against Jose Urena. Cabrera is one of the easier plays on the slate.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Andrew McCutchen - OF, vs TOR ($3,400)
McCutchen has caught fire over his last 10 games, hitting .276 with four extra-base hits (three home runs), six RBIs, and one steal over that span. He's playing in an extremely hitter friendly stadium, and he gets a great matchup Thomas Pannone. McCutchen also owns 0.027 wOBA and 0.037 ISO differentials against left-handed pitching.
Alex Gordon - OF, vs MIN ($3,000)
Gordon's numbers don't pop off of the page, but he continues to make a consistent option, who also comes with upside. He has scored fantasy points in 10 consecutive games, while scoring double digit fantasy points in five of those games. He gets a good matchup against Kyle Gibson today, and Gordon features 0.1 wOBA and 0.144 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching. He's also hitting third in the Royals lineup.
