We are a few days into the season now and able to grasp more of what lies ahead. There is no doubt in my mind we will see an entirely different version of baseball this year, but that's not entirely a bad thing. Who doesn't love a new challenge for fantasy? This Sunday brings us an 11-game slate with a bounty of talent to choose.
Something very noteworthy, starting pitchers are throwing a similar number of pitches to start a game, but velocities are down. As far as the bats are concerned, there is a lot of platoons going around. Check Cincinnati's outfield for that one. So now, this is shaping up to be a fun start to the season!
In this article, I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 7/26/2020. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news and projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Zack Greinke - HOU v. SEA ($9,600)
Greinke is a crafty vet that should be able to make efficient work of the Seattle Mariners lineup. There is a tremendous amount of youngsters there and a lot of swing and miss potential to drive up the strikeout total. The 18 game-winner from 2019 threw 80 pitches in a recent simulated game. You will have to pay the steep price to get an ace like Greinke, but it will be worth it when he gets picks up the win at home. He makes for a nice cash game option with the win equity that Houston has today.
Mitch Keller - PIT @ STL ($6,500)
Keller features exciting stuff that can put away any batter in the MLB. He brings the high strikeout ability to St Louis to try and pick up some ground on the Cardinals after a loss. Keller has made adjustments to his fastball that should help make his two nasty breaking balls even more dangerous. Don't let the unlucky 7.15 ERA scare you away, he had a crazy high BABIP last season and is an elite prospect. Buy-in now while the price is so low and then use the saving to load up on all the big bats.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
C.J. Cron - 1B, DET @ CIN ($2,700)
There are a plethora of great options at the catcher/first base slot, and Cron has a hot bat with a discount. Last year Cron had a 10.6 Brl/PA% that was near the top of the MLB, along with names like Nelson Cruz, Mike Trout, and Aaron Judge. Now take that power, put it in one of the smallest ballparks, and you have a chance to see a multi-HR day. Cron is a great pick if you want to spend extra on another position without sacrificing.
Ketel Marte - 2B, ARI @ SDP ($3,400)
Marte has yet to explode in the boxscores like he did last season. Against righties the previous year, he had a .333 batting average with nearly more HRs than strikeouts(12 HR:22K). He is the fourth-highest priced second basemen but should put up number one totals as he faces off against Garrett Richards. Marte should be able to spray the ball all around the field and be the production menace you want.
Rafael Devers - 3B, BOS V. BAL ($3,700)
Starting any potent bat against Wade LeBlanc is a winning strategy, especially Rafael Devers. He demolished righties last year with his .278 ISO and set a career-high previous year in HRs, RBI, and Runs. It is going to be a very rough day for LeBlanc and a very productive day for Devers.
Javier Baez - SS, CHI V. MIL ($3,400)
Baez is one of the freest swingers in the MLB. He will be squaring off against Freddy Peralta with the wind howling out to the left-field power alley. That exactly what is needed for Baez to smash balls into the bleachers as he did with 25 of his 31 HRs last year. The other great news is he gets placed right in the middle to help with his counting stats. Look for him to swing early in the count to take advantage of Peralta's desire to get ahead in counts.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Yoshimoto Tsutsugo - OF, TOR @ TAM ($2,800)
The Rays were in search of a left-handed power bat in the offseason. They signed Tsutsugo to a deal, and he is already paying off with a two-run HR on Friday. What makes Tsutsugo so appetizing is Toronto putting out Thomas Hatch. Hatch has never pitched above double-A ball, thus facing the Rays will not be pretty for him. Tsutsugo is a cheaply sourced power bat that should pay off at home.
Jay Bruce - OF, MIA @ PHI ($2,400)
Bruce is a power bat with a prolific ability to hit the long ball. He sits when facing an LHP but is a must-start when facing a righty. Bruce put 18 bases over the fence in only 254 plate appearances when facing an RHP. He will be hitting after all the on-base machines in the Phillies offense like Rhys Hoskins, Bryce Harper, and JT Realmuto, so look for the RBI to roll in.
Corey Dickerson - OF, MIA @ PHI ($2,500)
It's a great time to take advantage of the under-pricing of Corey Dickerson. He is slotted to hit in the middle of the Marlins offense. Which is looking much better than in previous seasons. Dickerson finds himself in Citizens Bank Park, which is a great place for a left-handed hitter to be. Against RHP, like Vince Velasquez, Dickerson has a career .243 ISO and 125 wRC+.
