FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Max Scherzer: WAS vs CHC ($10,800)

Scherzer is having another absurdly dominant season, posting a 32.2% K-rate with a 4.1% walk-rate. Scherzer has dismantled some of the best lineups in the National League in the Dodgers, Brewers, and Cardinals in his last three starts, proving that he's completely matchup proof. I like Scherzer over deGrom because of his price, and it's going to be tough avoiding Scherzer in cash games as he's such a strong play.

Joey Lucchesi: SDP vs PIT ($6,200)

Lucchesi has struggled with his results this year, with a 4.57 ERA entering Friday. However, Lucchesi's 3.38 FIP suggests that he's pitched much better than his ERA has shown. Tonight he gets a fantastic matchup against the Pirates, who have an abysmal .268 wOBA versus left-handed pitching, third-worst in the league. Lucchesi also gets to face them at home in an extremely pitcher-friendly ballpark. He is an outstanding value option at starting pitcher.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Freddie Freeman: 1B, ATL vs MIL ($4,000)

While it's only mid-May, Freeman is having the best season of his career at the plate with a 154 wRC+. He's got a career-high walk rate with a career-low strikeout rate while putting up monster numbers out of the Braves three-hole. Opposing starter Jhoulys Chacin has an awful 5.47 FIP, so Freeman is an easy buy at this price.

Jonathan Villar: 2B, BAL at CLE ($2,900)

Villar has been cold lately but still holds value as the Orioles leadoff man. He will get to maximize his number of plate appearances against Indians starter Jefry Rodriguez. Rodriguez has just a 15.0% K-rate and should regress significantly from his current ERA, so Villar may be able to score some runs.

Francisco Lindor: SS, CLE vs BAL ($4,000)

Lindor is another leadoff hitter to target. He's batting .333 with two homers and three steals in the last two weeks and gets to face Dylan Bundy, owner of a 6.13 FIP. I'd consider him with his Cleveland teammates as a stack.

Matt Chapman: 3B, OAK at DET ($3,800)

Chapman has feasted on left-handed pitching this year with a 171 wRC+ against southpaws. He faces a weak lefty in Daniel Norris, who has a 6.04 Deserved Run Average in 2019. Chapman can have a big night here batting second for the A's.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Shohei Ohtani: OF, LAA vs KAN ($3,600)

Ohtani was an elite hitter against righties last year after putting up a 182 wRC+, so he should be targeted here against Brad Keller. Keller has a 4.47 ERA, and Ohtani may see RBI opportunities batting third for the Angels.

Tommy Pham: OF, TAM at NYY ($3,600)

Pham's price has dropped due to a recent slump, but he's been one of the best five category performers in fantasy this year. His power/speed combo makes him an attractive play in GPP contests. Pham will be batting second in a hitter-friendly park in New York.
