FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (8/11/20): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Andrew Lennox's top NHL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 8/11/20. Expert daily fantasy hockey advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

The bracket of 16 is set as the Stanley Cup playoffs begin! Tuesday features four first-round matchups featuring  Carolina-Boston along with Chicago squaring off against Vegas.

Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. There are several games at 6.5, as that has become the new norm in hockey now more offense in the league than ever before.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/11/20. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @awlenn. Let's go!!

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jonathan Toews - C, COL vs. VGK (FD - $6,900, DK - $5,300)

Captain Serious was arguably the series MVP against Edmonton. Toews tallied two assists in game four on Friday. In four games, Toews had four goals and three assists. At the age of 32, Toews still provides clutch performances when needed for Chicago. The three-time Stanley Cup champion played a huge role in helping rookie linemate Dominik Kubalik notch five points in his postseason debut. Toews is a bargain at (FD - $6,900, DK - $5,300), especially with how well he plays in important games. Chicago is considered a longshot to beat Vegas but expect Toews to have a great series as he did against Edmonton.

Nikita Kucherov - W, TB vs. CLB (FD - $8,300, DK - $8,000)

In round-robin play, Nikita Kucherov had just one goal and an assist in three games. He did, however, tally ten shots in those contests. With injuries to Victor Hedman and Steven Stamkos, Kucherov will have to step up offensively to knock off a hungry Columbus Blue Jackets team. Kurhervov earned DFS players a ton of points in the regular season as he scored 33 goals and 52 assists in 68 Lightning games.

Also Consider:

Sebastian Aho had three goals and five assists in just three games as Carolina crushed the New York Rangers.

Keep an eye on Vegas winger Max Pacioretty. Pacioretty missed the first three Golden Knights round-robin games (undisclosed). The 32-year-old winger had an excellent regular season with 32 goals and 34 assists in 71 games.

A veteran to consider is Dallas center, Joe Pavelski. Pavelski has scored some big goals in his career, mostly with his former team, the San Jose Sharks. In round-robin play, Pavelski had two-goals in three games.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Shea Theodore - D, CHI vs. VGK (FD - $5,900, DK - $6,500)

The Vegas Golden Knights cruised through round-robin play winning all three games.  Defenseman Shea Theodore's excellent play is a big reason why Vegas is the first seed in the Western Conference. Theodore had two goals and two assists in just three round-robin games.  During those contests, Theodore averaged 24:02 minutes of ice time while adding 11 shots on goal. Theodore and the Knights have been efficient on the power play at 27.3%.

Seth Jones - D, CHI vs NSH (FD - $4,900, DK - $5,700)

Seth Jones has become the face of the Columbus Blue Jackets franchise. With a goal and an assist, Jones was at the top of his game against Toronto in cup qualifying play. For DraftKings players, Jones blocks a ton of opponents shots which bring points to your lineup. In just five games against the Leafs, Jones blocked 16 shots.

Other choices for Tuesday may include Mark Giordano, Victor Hedman (If healthy), Zach Werenski, Sami Vatanen, Torey Krug.

DFS Goalie to Consider

Andrei Vasilevskiy - G, TB vs CLB (FD - $8,900, DK - $8,000)

Tampa Bay goaltender Andrei Vasilevkiy is under a lot of pressure this postseason. After an early first-round exit last season, the Lightning and Vasilevskiy will be hoping to redeem themselves.  Vasilevskiy had a strong regular-season 35 wins, 14 losses, and three shootout losses. Tampa Bay will be looking for revenge after being swept by Columbus in last year's postseason.

Robin Lehner or Marc-Andre Fleury maybe goaltenders worth looking into. In three round-robin games for Vegas, both netminders played well.
