FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (5/3/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey

Wednesday features a Game 4 and a Game 5. Carolina could eliminate the New York Islanders in a sweep. Meanwhile, St. Louis looks to play more composed after Wednesday's Game 4 mess.

Remember, when picking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. How does Dallas recover after a strange third period that saw them less than two minutes from forcing overtime only for St. Louis to stun everyone with a late goal.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/3/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ChrisWasselDFS. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Sebastian Aho - C, CAR vs NYI (FD - $6,800, DK - $6,500)

Aho broke through in Game 3 with a goal and assist. The center fired two shots on net and had three scoring chances in the 5-2 victory. Carolina stands just one win from the Conference Final and Aho played like a different player in that third period. It was as if he sensed the fear in the Islanders. Carolina's best line had to be its top line after they narrowly escaped Game 2 with a win. Game 3 was where they showed their might.

Jaden Schwartz - W, STL vs DAL  (FD - $6,000, DK - $5,100)

The winger had a bit of a stinker in Game 4 but still had three scoring chances yet one shot on net. It felt like a blip on the radar as the forward still has six goals and eight points in his last nine games overall. He still provides a cheap option to pair with Vladimir Tarasenko or even a Colton Parayko/Alex Pietrangelo. There is always Teuvo Teravainen if stacking Carolina is feasible given one's lineup. Schwartz's price is still too cheap to not completely discount.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Alex Pietrangelo - D, STL vs DAL (FD - $6,600, DK - $6,100)

Pietrangelo fired in another assist and basically hit his value again on Wednesday night. That is seemingly what the Blues' defenseman does lately. He is averaging value per contest not necessarily value plus. Now, that's alright in the playoffs because the consistency is something good to count on. Colton Parayko is the cheaper option but does have better potential to block more shots. Parayko looks like an intriguing play for those who want to drop down by a $1,000 or so.

Miro Heiskanen - D, DAL vs STL (FD - $4,200, DK - $4,300)

Heiskanen functions as a value defensive play again on Friday night. His floor is a solid 4.5 shots and blocked shots per game over his previous ten matches. The young Finnish defenseman finds ways to jump into the play and can always be a threat to garner an assist or goal. Games 2 and 3 showed that opportunistic side and who knows when that may strike. Anything above that floor is considered a bonus on a night where it is harder to trust punt defensemen.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Jordan Binnington - G, STL vs DAL (FD - $8,200, DK - $7,800)

Binnington comes in fired up after a lackluster showing that saw him lose his composure and give up four goals. The FanDuel price is quite reasonable under the circumstances. Also, Binnington bounced back well in Game 3 -- stopping 31 of 34 shots in a tough road victory. Curtis McElhinney's price has come up with his Game 3 performance but watch to see if Petr Mrazek tries to give it a go. There's a slight chance but it should be monitored in case.
