FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (4/6/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey

Tom Vecchio's top NHL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 4/6/19. Expert daily fantasy hockey advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

This is it, the final day of the regular season where we still don't have a clear picture for the playoff matchups. Yes, we know who will be at the dance, but not sure who their partner will be. Plenty of options to get through, let's jump in.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/6/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Nathan MacKinnon - C, COL @ SJ (FD - $8,700, DK - $8,000)

The Avalanche secured their playoff spot the other night and after an up and down season, they are looking at one final tuneup versus a struggling Sharks team. Yes, the Sharks who are known as one of the best defensive teams in recent seasons have looked awful to finish the season, allowing 2.92 goals per 60 and 11.96 high-danger scoring chances per 60 over the past month. Those are numbers you'd expect from a team gunning for the lottery not a team with Stanley Cup ambitions. MacKinnon has seven points in his last six games and 24 shots in that same span, making him safe for any format tonight.

Leon Draisailt - W, EDM @ CGY (FD - $8,300, DK - $7,300)

Here is your absolute stone cold lock of the day. Leon Draisaitl, a winger for the Edmonton Oilers, will score his 50th goal of the season. It's really as simple as that today, so you should be getting him in as many lineups as you possibly can, since he will 100% return value tonight. The Oilers dynamic duo of McDavid and Draisaitl have been on a heater this season and while they won't be making the playoffs, they always bring the fantasy points. The matchup on paper actually isn't amazing and with 13 games on the slate, he shouldn't be highly owned at all.

Carl Hagelin - W, WAS vs NYI (FD - $3,800, DK - $2,900)

Hagelin is very cheap across the industry tonight and is really only in play for GPPs tonight due to his limited role within the offense but the third forward line would be the spot to stack up. He comes in with three points, seven shots, and two blocked shots in his last five games, while his linemates have three total points and 13 shots. That is decent production from some bottom-six forwards and a very cheap stack to roster tonight.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Justin Schultz - D, PIT vs NYR (FD - $4,300, DK - $4,900)

Schult and the Penguins are at home and facing off against a weak Rangers team in a game where the over-under is set at 6.5 goals tonight. We are expecting plenty of scoring in this game and it will likely come largely from the Pittsburgh side of things. Schultz is back on the second power-play unit since Letang is back from his injury and on the first unit, but you can still look to Schultz for GPP stacks. He has one point, 11 shots, and eight blocked shots in his last five games, along with coming in at a very affordable price point.

Jacob Trouba - D, WPG @ ARI (FD - $6,000, DK - $5,500)

The Jets are one of a few teams who have something to play for on the final day of the season and that is the Central Division title. They are just one point behind the Predators who are also in action tonight, so we won't know the outcome of their game when the Jets take the ice. Trouba has five points, 12 shots, and seven blocked shots over his last five games, along with still playing on the first power-play unit. They are up against the Coyotes who are 11th worst in the league over the past month in Corsi Against, meaning they are allowing plenty of shots every game, giving the Jets plenty of offensive chances.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Roberto Luongo - G, FLA vs NJ (FD - $7,800, DK - $7,900)

Luongo and the Panthers come in as -205 home favorites against the Devils, who have shown to be one of the worst teams this season. Over the last month, New Jersey is producing only 1.42 goals per 60 minutes, which is dead last in the league. They simply generate no offensive pressure and this should put Luongo in a spot to not only come away with the win but also limit the goals against. Great price on both sites but likely won't see a ton of saves tonight.

Pekka Rinne - G, NSH vs CHI (FD - $8,500, DK - $8,200)

As mentioned above, the Predators still have something to play for tonight so they won't be resting any of their starters. Rinne comes in as -240 home favorite and up against the Blackhawks who are on the second night of a back to back. He has allowed a total of five goals in his last three starts while racking up 30 saves or more in two of those games.
