FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (4/4/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey

Tom Vecchio's top NHL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 4/4/19. Expert daily fantasy hockey advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

We have a 12-game slate tonight with a few lopsided favorites, along with some games with over-under set at six or higher. There should be plenty of scoring to go around tonight and plenty of options for both cash games or GPPs.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/4/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Steven Stamkos - C, TB @ TOR (FD - $8,700, DK - $7,400)

All. He. Does. Is. Score. Goals. That is a very accurate description of Stamkos recently, as he has scored in eight of his last 10 games, and that won't be slowing down tonight. He is facing off against the Maple Leafs which has this game coming in with an over-under set at seven. We are expecting plenty of scoring in this game and since the Maple Leafs are seventh worst in the league in Corsi Against over the past month, the shots will be there for the Maple Leafs. A top power-play stack is always the go-to play, but very expensive as we know and fully viable tonight with all the value we have on this slate.

Kevin Labanc - W, SJ vs EDM (FD - $5,400, DK - $4,200)

Labanc is playing great right now and his salary hasn't been changed too much to reflect that, so we want to jump on board with this production before things change. He comes in with five points and 10 shots in his last five games and still seeing time on the second power-play unit. He has a great matchup in front of him tonight since he is up against the Oilers, who are allowing the fifth most high-danger scoring chances per 60 over the last month. The Sharks are on a slide right now but we see them coming in as -145 road favorites and should be able to put up some goals tonight.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Dougie Hamilton - D, CAR vs NJ (FD - $6,200, DK - $5,800)

Hamilton is making moves out on the ice recently, almost as if he was trying to teach you how to Dougie, but that's a topic for a different time. He comes in with a very impressive four goals, 16 shots, and eight blocked shots over his last five games, which is why we've seen his price jump up. The Hurricanes are one of a few teams still fighting for every single point as we close the season, so the NEED winning games and this one is easy going up against the Devils who are near the bottom of the league in several defensive categories.

Tyler Myers - D, WPG @ COL (FD - $4,200, DK - $4,200)

Love the price on Myers tonight since he brings a bit of saving we can always use to help ease our roster construction. He is on the second power-play unit for the Jets, who are now tied for first in the Central Division, so this is not a game they can take off as it directly impacts their playoff seeding. Myers comes in with only one point in his last five games, but has14 shots, and four blocked shots in that span. He is more of a floor option compared to a ceiling play, due to the lack of scoring.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Carter Hutton - G, BUF vs OTT (FD - $7,200, DK - $7,900)

The Sabres are not a good team, but they are facing a Senators team, who is even worse. This leads to the Sabres coming in as -185 home favorites since the Sens will have Joey Daccord in net, who will be making his first ever NHL start. This is simply going for the win equity with Hutton since he is struggling as of late. We want the Sabres offense to take care of business, put up goals, and come away with the win.
