FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (3/3/18): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Tom Vecchio's top NHL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 3/3/18. Expert daily fantasy hockey advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

We have a split slate of games today, but there are good options on the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters where you can afford them.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/3/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Brad Marchand - W, BOS vs MON (DK - $7,200, FD - $)

When Marchand isn't out there tripping the opposing players, he can be one of the best goal scorers in the league. With Patrice Bergeron out for the Bruins, a bit more of the offense should fall on to the shoulders of Marchand. This is an ideal spot for him, since he is up against the Habs, who are a weak defensive team, and on the second night of a back to back. Marchand is taking over two shots per game, and on the first power-play unit.

Alex Ovechkin - W, WAS vs TOR (DK - $8,100, FD - $8,900)

This game is being played outdoors, which is always fun to watch, so we should be in for a good one. This is the rematch of last years first round of the playoffs, so a bit of extra tension could be in the air. Ovechkin is a hat trick waiting to happen really any night, and with his flair for the dramatic, we could see it in this big game. He is taking four shots per game, and has three goals in his last three games. The night slate is smaller one, so he is the guy you want to pay up for and have in your lineups.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Erik Karlsson - D, OTT @ ARI (DK - $6,200, FD - $7,100)

Despite not being traded at the deadline and the Senators being a sinking ship, Karlsson is still the shining light for them, and brings fantasy value every game. He is taking about three shots per game, blocking almost two shots per game and on the first power-play. Karlsson sees about 25 minutes of ice time per game, so the opportunities will be there for him to pile on the points. I generally don't look towards the Senators for offense, but they are up against the Coyotes tonight, who are giving up over three goals per game, so could be a nice stack.

Oscar Klefbom - D, EDM vs NYR (DK - $5,400, FD - $5,200)

The Oilers might have had a very dissapointing season, but they are still scoring a good amount of goals. Klefbom is on the top defensive pairing and the first power-play, which gets you some nice exposure to Connor McDavid. The Oilers are up against the Rangers, who have a ton of young defenders, and that inexperience is something you want to attack. Oilers stack looks to be a solid plan on this smaller slate.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Tristan Jaryy - G, PIT vs NYI (DK - $7,600, FD - $)

Jarry makes an interesting GPP option tonight, since he is up against the Islanders who love to take a ton of shots, so the saves should be there for him. He came into the Penguins most recent game in relief of DeSmith, and didn't play well. But at his cheaper price, with the Islanders on the second night of a back to back, I like the upside he has tonight. Not to mention their offense should be able to come away with the win at home.
