FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (12/11/18): Daily Fantasy Hockey

Tom Vecchio's top NHL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 12/8/18. Expert daily fantasy hockey advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

We have a 10-game slate to break down giving us plenty of options to look at tonight. There are a ton of high-priced skaters you want to be rostering tonight and plenty of games with high over-unders, so could be in for a slate with inflated scores.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 12/11/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jack Eichel - C, BUF vs LA (FD - $7,700, DK - $7,500)

Eichel and the Sabres were super-hot with a 10-game win streak but now on a five-game losing streak. Despite the ups and downs, they have a chance to win at home, as they are -155 favorites against the Kings. Eichel is up on the first forward line, first power-play unit and has posted eight points in their last five games, along with 25 shots. We are dealing with a solid 10-game slate tonight and based on the other options, Eichel should be firmly in play for both cash games and GPPs. If you want to spend up and stack him, use Jeff Skinner and Same Reinhart alongside him, who are both on the first forward line and the first power-play unit.

Nick Foligno - W, CLS vs VAN (FD - $5,400, DK - $4,400)

The Blue Jackets come in as massive -215 favorites and have an over-under set at six, so looking like a prime spot for them. Foligno is on the cheaper side of things tonight and is up on the first power-play unit, which gets you nice exposure to Cam Atkins and Artemi Panarin. Foligno has only one point in his last five games but brings in a decent nine shots and four blocked shots. He is really only a GPP option in my opinion since we have strong cash game options, but he is a nice way to get exposure to the offense while being a bit different in tournaments.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Matt Dumba - D, MIN vs MON (FD - $5,600, DK - $5,100)

Dumba is the definition of a cash game option nearly every single slate and tonight will be no different. You will be spending a decent amount to get him, but you are getting a very high floor of points from him, along with a bit of upside. He is taking over three shots per game, over one blocked shot per game, which is where his floor of points comes from. Dumba is also up on the first power-play, which is where is ceiling comes from, making him viable in all formats.

Aaron Ekblad - D, FLA @ (FD - $4,900, DK - $4,300)

Ekblad makes a solid GPP stacking option tonight since the Panthers are up against the Blues, who are giving up over three goals a game and come in with a 57 Corsi Against. That means they are giving up plenty of shot chances to opposing teams and while shots don’t always lead to goals, they bring an upside which can be hard to find. Take the bit of savings and stack him with the Panthers second power-play unit.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Tuukka Rask - G, BOS vs ARI (FD - $8,500, DK - $8.200)

Rask and the Bruins are at home and -175 favorites against the Kings, in what should be a very winnable game for them. The Kings come in with a 54 Corsi For this season, which is 11th lowest in the league, meaning they don’t take a ton of shots, so Rask shouldn’t be under too much threat tonight. He has three wins in his last five starts while allowing two or fewer goals in all three of those wins. He is expensive but worth paying up to get the win.
