FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (10/30/18): Daily Fantasy Hockey

We have an 11-game slate to look at tonight and we are starting to get a few games into the season, so we should be able to start looking at some more stats soon. Personally, I like Corsi For, which is an advanced shot metric shot which can help identify offensive opportunity.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/30/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jack Eichel - C, BUF vs CGY (FD - $7,400, DK - $7,100)

Love Eichel as a tournament play tonight, since we are dealing with a loaded slate, he should be lower owned compared to McDavid, Crosby, Bergeron, and Seguin. This upside is something you want to take a stand on in tournaments since he brings multi-point upside by himself. Eichel carries a 13.5 Corsi For, meaning he is generating chances towards the net, which can lead to goals or easy rebounds. He will be facing off against the Flames, who are on the second night of a back-to-back and giving up three goals per game.

Cam Atkinson - W, CLS vs DET (FD - $7,100, DK - $6,900)

Let me say this if you are looking for a trend to take advantage of early in the season, it's the fact the Blue Jackets are getting into very high scoring games nearly every night out. AKA bet the over. With that said, I like the Blue Jackets to score plenty of goals tonight, since they up against the Red Wings, who are completely terrible and giving up 3.9 goals per game. Atkinson is taking over four shots per game and is up on the first forward line.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Brent Burns - D, SJ vs NYR (FD - $7,300, DK - $7,000)

Burns is a sure-fire cash game option tonight and despite his high price tag, you should be looking to get him in your lineups. Mr. Burns is up on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play unit, giving him plenty of upside since he is up against the Rangers, who are giving up a ton of shots per game. He is taking nearly three shots per game along with blocking one shot per game, which is what gives him his floor of points. The ceiling comes from the favorable matchup and power-play time.

Zdeno Chara - D, BOS @ CAR (FD - $4,300, DK - $4,700)

Chara isn't that expensive across the industry and should be seeing time on the first power-play unit. There were reports yesterday that Bruins defender Matt Grzelcyk wouldn't be playing tonight, so we could be seeing Chara up with that unit. If he is there, this is a perfect value play on a loaded slate, since we should see plenty of scoring in this game as the over-under is set at six and the Hurricanes love to play at a face pace when at home.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Antti Raanta - G, ARI vs OTT (FD - $7,700, DK - $8,000)

Raanta and the Coyotes are at home and come in as -190 favorites since they are up against the Senators, who are just a bad team. Raanta has two wins in his last three games and in those wins, he only gave up one goal apiece. Love his price tonight, especially on FanDuel and should be a solid option for either format.
