FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (10/22/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Tuesday features ten games in all with a spotlight on games like Pittsburgh and Florida, Toronto and Boston, plus even Vegas and Chicago.

Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. There are several games at 6.5, as that has become the new norm in October now.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/22/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ChrisWasselDFS. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Sidney Crosby - C, PIT vs FLA (FD - $8,700, DK - $7,700)

Crosby seems like a tiny bit of a risk but not really. He has ten goals and five assists in his last nine games against Florida. In that span, the center has generated 35 scoring chances and fired 30 shots on net. The Panthers can score and be scored upon with ease. Florida is allowing just about four goals a game which means there should be plenty of opportunities for Crosby and company to get on the scoreboard. Add in the fact that Florida's top line is banged up a bit with injuries and this just got that much easier.

David Pastrnak - W, BOS vs TOR  (FD - $8,500, DK - $8,000)

The winger keeps going and has an affinity for playing the Toronto Maple Leafs (averaging nearly 1.5 points per game over his last ten meetings). Pastrnak has 20+ FanDuel points in his previous three games and 15 real-world points in the last half-dozen contests. Considering his potential to hit the shot bonus as well and nearly five scoring chances a game versus Toronto, Pastrnak has to have a place in lineups on Tuesday night.

Also Consider:

  • Jack Eichel, Connor McDavid, and even Mark Scheifele could be viable plays on Tuesday night.
  • Johnny Gaudreau and Patrick Kane are also in plus-matchup situations on this large slate.

DFS Defenders to Consider

John Carlson - D, WSH vs CGY (FD - $7,100, DK - $7,100)

Carlson is this year's Morgan Rielly and arguably even better. He has 18 points in ten games on the season. Carlson produced points in every game but one so far and is going up against a Calgary team that typically gives up three goals a game at home. The defenseman quarterbacks one of the best power plays in the league over the past half-decade. It is little surprise why Carlson has ascended in price and is a top play again on Tuesday night.

Jacob Trouba - D, NYR vs ARZ (FD - $5,600, DK - $6,300)

Trouba works as a nice mid-tier option especially on FanDuel where he is priced a bit too low. He has six points in six games and logs time in all situations (averaging over 24 minutes per game). Trouba comes close to the shot bonus on DraftKings and averages four shots on nearly eight attempts per night. Arizona does not suppress shots quite as well on the road (nearly 35 per 60) and they do allow a bounty of scoring chances. Goals could come in bunches at MSG tonight.

Also Consider:

  • Darnell Nurse and Ryan Ellis enjoy plus-matchups and are both below-average price.
  • Michal Kempny and Sean Walker are solid, value plays (under $4,000) on Tuesday night.

DFS Goalie to Consider

Alexandar Georgiev - G, NYR vs ARZ (FD - $7,500, DK - $8,000)

The New York Rangers allow a league-worst 36.8 shots per game along with a bevy of scoring chances. This is a team that yielded 45 shots to a Vancouver Canucks team that had played on the back end of a back-to-back. Other than the top line, every Rangers forward line gets ran hard possession and chance wise. Expect Georgiev to see more than 30 shots which put the DraftKings saves bonus in play too.

Also Consider:

  • The other good GPP choice on Tuesday is higher-risk but that would be John Gibson who is expected to face a ton of rubber against the Nashville Predators.
