FanDuel, DraftKings CFB DFS Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football Advice for 10/3/19

Week 4 college football DFS lineups, sleepers and value picks for the early slate on FanDuel and DraftKings on October 3rd. Target these NCAA players in CFB daily fantasy tournaments and cash games.

It's not pretty, but we have a two-game slate on our hands in college football with two home underdogs. The slate isn't clear either, so there should be plenty of an edge to grab onto. Temple is our top offense on the slate, and they're not even projected to score 35 points. There are a few traps to avoid and they will be the most important of all.

Let's dive right in and find the top plays at each position!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the of games on FanDuel and DraftKings on 10/3/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

It's an extremely fun slate ahead of us, with more than enough offense to go around. I'll be breaking down the later slate in a different article, so make sure to keep an eye out for that as well. Let's dive into some of the top plays at each position. You can follow me on Twitter @VarneyDFS. I will be around all day to answer questions.

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Quarterbacks

Shai Werts - Georgia Southern - FD $9,200 DK $6,200

This is quite a funky slate, as we're working with two home underdogs with low totals. Most of our love will come for Georgia Southern and Temple, who are favorited to win and should put up more points. Georgia Southern is a triple-option offense and Shai Werts is the head of the snake. He returned last week and ran the ball 21 times for 93 yards. He'll get an easier match-up this week against Southern Alabama, who's been terrible against the run. Georgia Southern is favored by 10 points and will keep it on the ground all game long. Werts is the safest QB-play on the board and you can lock him into your cash games.

Anthony Russo - Temple - FD $10,200 DK $7,800

Prior to last week, Anthony Russo was one of the more surprising and impressive quarterbacks in the nation. He was terrible a week ago, but the Temple Owls struggled to move the ball through the air against a stingy Georgia Tech pass defense. GT also has one of the worst rush defenses in the nation and Temple took advantage. They're back to a more conventional, though still poor, Eastern Carolina defense that struggles against the pass. Look for Russo to get back over 200 yards and for him to find the end zone a couple of times. With that said, I still expect Temple to control this game on the ground and Russo doesn't have a crazy ceiling.

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Running Backs

Re'Mahn Davis - Temple - FD $9,600 DK $6,800

I was all over Re'Mahn Davis against Georgia Tech, and he erupted for 135 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. He'll once again be asked to handle the workload against an Eastern Carolina defense that won't put up much of a fight. With just two games on this slate and not much to love, Re'Mahn Davis is close to a lock in your cash games and tournaments. I certainly won't have a lineup without the RB that's guaranteed the most volume on the slate.

Tra Minter - South Alabama - FD $8,300 DK $6,600

Southern Alabama will be playing from behind, and Tra Minter is a huge part of this passing game. He's caught 11 passes through three games, and is relied upon to carry this offense. Minter will see at least 20 touches in this game and he has a ton of upside if Southern Alabama can get up on Georgia Southern. This is college football, and we see crazier things every week than a 10.5 point underdog taking an early lead. Minter won't be all that heavily owned and he has just as much upside as Re'Mahn Davis.

Logan Wright - Georgia Southern - FD $7,900 DK $5,400

Logan Wright is the starting running back for this Georgia Southern team that should be playing this game with the lead. Wright is a solid runner and he gets the ball inside the redzone on nearly 50% of the runs. He's cheap enough on both sites and there isn't much else to consider at running back. Wright has the guaranteed volume and you know the defense he's facing doesn't stop anyone on the ground.

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Wide Receivers

Jadan Blue - Temple - FD $9,000 DK $7,200

You're not getting away from Jadan Blue on this two-game slate. He's the best and most consistent WR option on the board and you're likely playing his QB. Blue has been over seven targets each week and has seen the most red-zone targets out of the group. Isaiah Wright isn't far behind and you can play him as well, but Blue is clearly safer and the WR1 in this offense. Branden Mack is the third option, but he gets looks near the goal line and is not a bad way to pay down in tournaments. With all that said, you won't see a lineup of mine floating around without Jadan Blue. I just don't see the upside elsewhere.

Blake Proehl - East Carolina - FD $7,800 DK $5,800

Ahlers isn't a very good quarterback, so Blake Prohel is at his mercy on a lot of occasions. He's still the number one option on the team and has broken off two huge plays for touchdowns early in the season. This Temple defense is solid, but safety is a spot where they may struggle. If Proehl can get behind them, Ahlers has a strong arm and Proehl has the upside to win you a tournament on a two-game slate. It's ugly, but the upside is there.

Kawaan Baker - South Alabama - FD $7,400 DK $5,000

We're expecting South Alabama to be playing from behind here, and in part throwing the ball all game. Cephus Johnson is not a very good QB, but he will get over 200 yards if he's throwing all second half. Kawaan Baker gets the most looks at receiver, and he's been at least consistent early in the season. I don't expect many to be on Baker and he may very well find the end zone.
