FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/8/17): MLB DFS Advice

We have a 10 game slate to kick off the week, and there are some great options across the board. Some big name pitchers, along with the big bats of the Cubs at Coors Field. So plenty of options for either cash games or GPPs. You will need to find some savings if you want a Coors stack. So sit back, read up, and let's win some contests.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/08/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options, and of course, value plays

You can read our DraftKings and Yahoo DFS lineup picks as well. If you want to contact me, send me a message on Twitter at @DFS_Tom.

Offensive Stacks

New York Yankees vs Rookie Davis

The Yankees are hot right now and Rookie Davis isn't a good pitcher. He hasn't had more than four strikeouts in any of his starts this year, and he has dreadful numbers vs the hitters. He has a .472 wOBA vs lefties, and a .415 wOBA vs righties. Those are some terrible numbers to start the season, and the big Yankees bats should make quick work of him in a great hitters park. They should be stackable one through eight hitters, and you will be in good shape.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Carlos Martinez - P, @ MIA ($9,500)

Martinez is coming off one of his best starts of the year, and he has some favorable factors going for him tonight. He is in Miami, which is one of the best pitchers parks in the league, and the Marlins have a 20% strikeout rate versus right-handed pitching. Martinez has 43 SO through 36 IP this season, so nicely over one strikeout per nine innings. He has also put together two quality starts in a row, and only giving up three earned runs over those two games. The quality start is a great new stat on FanDuel, and getting those extra points is always great. One point of concern is that Martinez doesn't always get the run support from the offense to pick up the win. Regardless of that, he should still put up a solid outing and nice strikeout upside.

Gio Gonzalez - P, @ BAL ($8,900)

Gonzalez is quietly one of the most consistent pitchers to start the year. He has five quality starts in six outings and has only allowed seven earned run in those six starts. Really, really strong numbers, and he is in a great spot tonight. Gonzalez is up against Baltimore who have the worst strikeout rate versus left-handed pitchers in the league, clocking in at 27%. That is the type of stat you want to key in on, and target against them. Gonzalez has six or more strikeouts in four of his six starts this season, and with the very favorable match up, he should be able to push that to eight or more. Really like Gio in this spot tonight, great for cash games.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Russell Martin - C, vs CLE ($3,100)

Martin has a .319 wBOA vs right-handed pitching, along with a .138 ISO. Martin has put up points in every game since April 11th, not always a ton of points, but no zeros. The Blue Jays offense seems to be turning it around this past week, after their rough start to the season. Martin usually bats in the middle of the order, and is a great cash game option. Some DFS players punt the catcher spot, but Martin is a nice consistent option.

Ryan Zimmerman - 1B, @ BAL ($4,600)

Zimmerman is on some kind of streak right now, and he has no signs of slowing down. He has put up double digit FanDuel points in 12 straight games. Really some unbelievable stuff to start the year. His stats for the year are, .435 AVG, 13 HR, 34 RBI. He has a .535 wOBA, a 231 wRC+, and a .413 ISO versus right-handed pitching this season. He is mashing righties, and decent hitters park for tonight's game.

Starlin Castro - 2B, @ CIN ($3,900)

Castro is having a fantastic start to the season, and he is being over shadowed by other players on the Yankees, which should tell you how great they are playing. Castro is batting .381 with 6 HR, to start the year. The Yanks are at the Great American Small Park tonight, and this has game stack written all over it. Castro bats in the middle of the lineup, and he has a .428 wOBA and a .225 ISO versus right-handed pitching. Great option for a stack tonight.

Jose Ramirez - 3B, @ TOR ($4,000)

Ramirez has a great combination of power and average, he is hitting .300 with 6 HR to start the year. Up against a right-handed pitcher tonight, Ramirez has a .454 wOBA and a .373 ISO versus them. Really great numbers, and he is at Toronto which is a solid hitters park. Great option for cash games, and also solid as a one off in your GPP stacks.

Chris Taylor - SS, vs PIT ($2,900)

Taylor has stepped in to some games, with the injuries to some Dodgers players. He playing great and also offers you a bit of salary relief, since you get him for under 3K. Taylor has a .423 wOBA and a .318 ISO versus right-handed pitching this year. He may not have the biggest sample size this year, as he has only played in 15 games. But with the playing time he gets, he has been consistent. Salary savings, and some consistency never hurts.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

 Aaron Judge - OF, @ CIN ($4,500)

ALL RISE! Judge has been laying down the law via his bat, and is off to an incredible start this season. He has 13 HR and 27 RBI so far this year, and is at one of the best hitters parks in the league. He is expensive, but you should try to find a way to get him in your lineups. He has a .465 wOBA and a .438 ISO versus right-handed pitching this year. He has a also gone two games without a home run, so it seems like he is due for one.

Charlie Blackmon - OF vs CHC ($4,300)

Always nice to have some exposure to the Rockies bats when they are playing at home. Blackmon is up against Arrieta tonight, but this is still Coors Field, and we are expecting plenty of runs. Blackmon has a .408 wOBA and a .297 ISO versus right-handed pitching this season. He is best used in a stack, but also suitable as a one off in your GPP lineups.

Colby Rasmus - OF, vs KAN ($2,500)

Rasmus just got called up the other day, and is a super cheap option with some power upside. If he is starting, he has some much salary savings, and a path to roster Coors Field bats, you have to give him a look. With only five games played this year, its way too small of a sample size to provide any decent stats. This is more of a punt play to get the big bats in one lineup.
