Daily Fantasy College Football: FanDuel Picks for 11/7
We aren't blessed with picking from the Baylor offensive cupboard this weekend for the first time in a long time, but I'm certain we can make things interesting without.
If you're looking for stacking opportunities or just guys with higher upsides thanks to the inflated projected point totals, here are a few matchups you should consider: Texas Tech at West Virginia (80); TCU at Oklahoma State (76.5); Cincinnati at Houston (73); Arizona State at Washington State (72); Iowa at Indiana (60.5).
FanDuel CFB DFS Quarterback Picks
As you might know, I like to give you a few guys that I haven't seen suggested elsewhere on other sites this week. When I can, I try to give a little insight into why I fade certain players as well. This is not to say that Trevone Boykin and Patrick Homes can't or wont be solid plays this weekend, but I feel their respective situations - both face solid pass defenses - suggest you you'd be better served spending your money elsehwere. I really like Greg Ward, Jr. as well, but honestly who doesn't? I threw him in as my honorable mention as he is an incredible, dual-threat talent an incredible matchup this weekend.
Skyler Howard (QB, WVU) - $7,700
Playing in the game with highest over/under for this slate and against a Texas Tech defense that ranks in the bottom third of the country, Howard is definitely in play for GPPs. His fantasy numbers haven't been too impressive the past few weeks, but he's been through the gauntlet in the Big 12 facing four tough defensive fronts over the past month. Howard has a great opportunity to attack through the air against an 87th ranked pass defense and he's good for double digit carries a game, which is extra appealing against a Red Raider run defense that is one of the worst in the country.
Gunner Kiel (QB, Cincinnati) - $8,500
Kiel falls into the high risk, high reward category with the quarterback job technically being open in Cincinnati. It's a situation to monitor, but head coach Tommy Tuberville hinted at Kiel being the starter on Saturday. Kiel's numbers last week in his return from the nasty shot he took a few weeks back against Memphis were brilliant. He went a perfect 15-for-15 on pass attempts for 319 yards and five touchdowns. This weekend, he's playing in a game with the third highest over/under for this slate and against a Houston pass defense that ranks 85th in the country.
Honorable Mention: Greg Ward, Jr. (QB, Houston) - $9,500
FanDuel CFB DFS Running Back Picks
My two top plays at running back this weekend are Richard and Smallwood. They're both priced fairly low considering their talents and the matchup that lies ahead of them. Not only are they both playing in games with high projected point totals, the rush defenses they're facing are nothing short of awful. I'm expecting a floor of at least 15 carries and 100 yards on the ground.
- Demario Richard (RB, ASU) - $7,100
- Wendell Smallwood (RB, WVU) - $6,700
Sleeper: Drake Johnson (RB, Michigan) - $4,500
The ground game picture in Ann Arbor might not be entirely clear just yet, but Johnson has an incredibly high ceiling for someone priced incredibly low. Starter De'Veon Smith is banged up and not expected to play and it could end up being a running back by committee situation, but the Wolverines take on a Rutgers team that really struggles with the run game. He's ripped off big games before and the upside is there. It's a situation worth monitoring.
FanDuel CFB DFS Wide Receiver Picks
Gabe Marks (WR, WSU) - $7,800
Marks stars as the favorite target of quarterback Luke Falk in what is a high volume passing offense for Washington State. Arizona State is no slouch opponent on defense, but their real strength is stopping the run, and as such I think head coach Mike Leach will lean more heavily on the pass than he usually does. I also really like the fact that this game has a high over/under (72) and a spread that's not too inflated.
Shaq Washington (WR, Cincinnati) - $6,400
I'm not exactly floored by the "top" wide receiver options this Saturday, which forced me to look for other potentially high volume guys. Enter Shaq Washington, who is paired with an incredibly skilled passer in Gunner Kiel and faces off against a pass defense that ranks 85th in the country.
Also consider: Laquon Treadwell (WR, Ole Miss) - $8,400 and Shelton Gibson (WR, WVU) - $6,700
FanDuel CFB DFS Tight End Picks
Evan Engram (TE, Ole Miss) - $3,200
There are a few viable options this weekend in what's normally a slim pickins' position. Of all of them, I think Engram has is not only a solid value but also has one of the highest floors thanks heavy inclusion in the Rebel passing game. Engram has hauled in four catches in each of his last three games and Ole Miss should be throwing early and often against an Arkansas pass defense that is an abomination.
Also consider: Jordan Fuchs (TE, IU) - $3,000
