FA Cup DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings (01/08/21) - FA Cup Soccer Round Three

Brandon's DraftKings FA Cup DFS lineup picks for FA Cup soccer on 01/08/21 (Round Three). His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back to “The Kick-Off”! We have ourselves Round Three of the FA Cup! Out of the four matches on the slate, we will have two hefty favorites: Leicester City -200 and Queens Park Rangers -110. The slate will run the course with all matches starting at 10:00 A.M. EST.

With three games, extremely soft pricing, COVID-19 and players missing due to the AFCON tournament, making the winning lineup will be very difficult and it will take the best forms of creativity when making lineups. The slate may also become a rather low-scoring slate which would point towards peripheral midfielders being much more valuable.

If you have any questions on today's slate, bankroll management, GPP strategy, Cash game strategy, or anything else don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] or via Twitter @df_solutions or on “SLACK”.

The Kick-Off - FA Cup Round Three

Vegas Odds for the Day

[H] Boreham Wood (+225) vs AFC Wimbledon [A] (+100):  Total: 2 1/2u

In a clash of the lower leagues of England, we have the in-form Boreham Wood versus struggling AFC Wimbledon. Boreham has won four of their last six home games and three of their last four games. Meanwhile, Wimbledon has found it rather difficult to win away with three losses out of their last five matches. The question at hand though, is can the success in the National League help the hosts defeat the struggling AFC Wimbledon who plays a league higher?

Expected Outcome: Boreham Wood 2-1

BWO:

Cash/GPP:

M/F: Boden($6.3K), Rees($6.1K)

GPP: Mendy($5.4K), Marsh($4.7K)

AFW:

Cash/GPP:

D: Alexander($4.4K), Lawrence($3.9K)

M/F: Palmer($9.6K)

GPP: Chislett($6.4K), Awokoya-Mebude($5.7K), Tzanev($5.2K), Rudoni($4.8K)

[H] West Bromwich Albion (+210) vs [A] Brighton & Hove Albion (+100):  Total: 2 1/2u

This has the makeup of the match of the slate. West Brom has only lost once at home in all competitions and it came to a 6-3 battering by Arsenal to start the season. Since then they have bounced between wins and draws. While Brighton also has a similar outcome as of late with three draws and their most recent away match a 3-2 win against Everton. With both clubs playing excellent defense, it will be hard to see this game blowing up. However, midfield players will prove valuable in a closely contested meeting.

Expected Outcome: 1-1

WBA:

Cash/GPP:

D: Furlong($5.1K)

M/F: Reach($5.9K), Diangana($5.5K)

GPP: Grant($8.9K), Robinson($8.4K), Palmer($4.6K)

BHA:

Cash/GPP:

M/F: Gross($8.6K)

GPP: March($7.1K), Welbeck($5.9K), Cucurella($5.6K), Lamptey($5.4K), Steele($4.9K)

[H] Leicester City (-200) vs [A] Watford (+400)  Total: 2 1/2o

Enter the biggest favorite of the slate, Leicester. The Foxes have been on a great run of form at home lately with four straight wins. However, the pesky Hornets are on the opposite end of the spectrum with three straight away losses, while being outscored 7-3. Furthermore, one of those three losses came at the hands of Leicester in a 4-2 drubbing at The King Power Stadium. Watford has made some excellent moves so far in the winter transfer window, however, none of the newly acquired players outside of Kamara will help them here.

Expected Outcome: Leicester City 3-1

LEI:

Cash/GPP:

G: Schmeichel($5.8K)

D: Daley-Campbell($3.8K)

M/F: Tielemans($9.2K), Albrighton($7.3K), Perez($5.6K), McAteer($3.6K)

GPP: Lookman($9.1K)

WAT:

Cash/GPP:

M/F: Sema($3.5K)

GPP: Fletcher($5.5K), Pedro($4.8K), Kamara($4.5K), Sissoko($3.3K)

[H] Queens Park Rangers (-110) vs [A] Rotherham (+235)  Total: 2 1/2u

Lastly, is the second match of the slate with clubs playing from two different tiers of English football. QPR currently sits in the playoff race within the Championship vying for a return to the top-flight, while Rotherham is making waves atop the League One table. QPR has fallen out of form lately though with unconvincing play and Rotherham is putting all focus into a promotion into the Championship. Due to the Millers focusing on league play and the Hoops already having experience playing at a higher level, the hosts should make way for another victory here.

Expected Outcome: Queens Park Rangers 2-1

QPR:

Cash/GPP:

G: Dieng($5.1K)

D: Barbet($4.3K)

M/F: Austin($7.2K), Johansen($5.8K)

GPP: Gray($6.9K), Thomas($6K), Dunne($4.5K)

RTH:

Cash/GPP:

M/F: Ogbene($5.8K), Barlaser($5.7K)

GPP: Smith($6.1K), Miller($5.4K), Wiles($4.7K), Vickers($4.5K), Harding($3.7K)

Expected Corner Takers:

Boreham Wood: Rees/Boden

AFC Wimbledon: Alexander/Lawrence/Rudoni

West Bromwich Albion: Furlong/Reach/Palmer

Brighton & Hove Albion: Gross

Leicester City: Tielemans/Albrighton

Watford: Sema/Fletcher/Pedro

Queens Park Rangers: Johansen/Barbet

Rotherham: Ogbene/Barlaser
