EURO 2020 Lineup Picks for FanDuel (6/22/21) - EURO 2020 Soccer

RotoBaller soccer expert Vince Dray breaks down the EURO 2020 DFS slate for FanDuel on 6/22/21.

Hello, RotoBallers! The Euro 2020 tournament continues with a small two-gamer on Tuesday. Teams are now playing their final games of the competition, so we will start to have a better idea of who might be advancing through to the knockout stage. I have a full breakdown for you covering this slate. Keep reading this breakdown for my DFS soccer picks on RotoBaller and see how to have success on Tuesday's slate.

The large majority of my DFS content will be covering the EURO 2020 tournament until the EPL returns in August, however, there is always more soccer DFS to cover. EURO 2020 DFS Lineup Picks - Overview

England vs Czech Republic

These two teams currently sit tied at the top of Group D on points. They can each advance to the next round with a draw, but England (-185) are the favorite to win this game. England have not been great this tournament with just one goal scored, however, they haven't given any goals up either. They should continue to control possession stats in this game as they did in their first two, but hopefully they will be able to put some balls in the back of the net Tuesday. The goal total over/under is 2, 2.5.

Croatia vs Scotland

Scotland pulled off a nice draw against a very uninspiring England team over the weekend, but they still have work to do if they want to advance. They have an uphill climb to get to the knockout round against Croatia (+100) who are coming off a 1-1 draw against the Czechs. Croatia are the better team here, but I doubt Scotland will be going down easy. The goal total over/under is 2.5.

 

FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders

England attackers have been some of the most underwhelming players of the tournament so far. It's hard to believe that Gareth Southgate will continue with a similar starting lineup given he has one of the deepest benches in the competition. I have an extrememly difficult time seeing myself paying up for Harry Kane ($23) or Raheem Sterling ($22). They're priced as if they each have several goals in this tournament in a matchup against a decent Czech defense. Kane has 0 shots on goal so far through two games, and Sterling is as inconsistent as it gets. Phil Foden ($16) has also been poor so far with just one chance created being his only stat through two games.

I would love to see guys like Marcus Rashford ($18), Jadon Sancho ($17), or Dominic Calvert-Lewin ($14) start in this game. They're some of the most talented attackers to be riding the bench in the tournament, and they will all have a ton to prove in this game with their current group of attackers not playing well at all. Plus, they're all a nice price decrease over Kane, Sterling, and Foden.

I definitely want to target some Croatian attackers in this game. They have a good matchup against Scotland in a must-win game for them. Andrej Kramaric ($18) and Ivan Perisic ($16) are my two favorites with their goal upside. Luka Modric ($17) has been decent too with a mixed bag of fantasy stats in his first two games.

Scotland attackers have been unable to get literally anything going attacking-wise, and I expect them to stuggle again in this game.

The Czech Republic have also not been great in their attacking third, and now they have a difficult matchup against England - who have yet to allow a goal. Patrick Schick ($20) is the most likely to score, but that's a high price tag to play for in this matchup. Tomas Soucek ($14) is one mid-tier guy I do have some interest in here. Vladimir Darida ($12) is unfortunately probably the best "value" attacker on the slate unless we see some bench players come into starting lineups Tuesday.

 

FanDuel DFS Defenders

The lack of value at the FWD and MID positions on this slate is one of the worst that we've had so far, so finding value at DEF is going to be essential.

Dejan Lovren ($7) is one way we can save some money on this slate. He entered the starting lineup for Croatia last game, but was not very productive. However, both England and Czech defenders scored well in their matchups against Scotland, so Lovren can do the same here. I think the Croatians keep a clean sheet here - and with those five bonus points - Lovren won't need many other stats to hit value. Josko Gvardiol ($9) is another solid option for cheap.

If paying up for defenders, there are two that I really like. First is Vladimir Coufal ($14). He was one of the most productive and consistent attacking wingbacks in the Premier League this season, and he has the same role on the field with Czech Republic. His attacking upside is good even in a more difficult matchup against England.

On the other side, I'm headed back to Luke Shaw ($13) again. His attacking upside is arguably even higher than Coufal's for $1 less.

 

FanDuel DFS Goalkeepers

Dominik Livakovic ($11) has not have a great tournament so far fantasy-wise, but now we are lucky to get him at a low price in his best matchup of the tournament. Scotland have been really poor attacking, and I think Livakovic can get both bonuses here. He might not make any saves, but I'll take the 17 bonus points from him.

Tomas Vaclik ($7) is pretty cheap here for playing against a team that is struggling to score. England has just one goal in the tournament so far and have been one of the more disappointing teams with their slow, prodding style of play. Vaclik should make plenty of saves - and if England don't have things figured out yet - I can see him keeping a clean sheet in this game.
