ESPN College Pick Em Picks - Week 12 College Football

Our Mike Marteny lays out the confidence points in ESPN College Pick Em for week 12 of the 2021 NCAA college football season.

There are some big prizes on the line in the revamped ESPN College Pick Em game this season. $13,200 across their three entry modes. So we here at RotoBaller will try and help you win some money, because that's what we do. I have created a group for you RotoBaller readers out there. One is based on the confidence game mode, where you pick the winner of each of the ten games they pick and then assign a point value from 1-10 based on how confident you are on each pick. You can play along with me and other RotoBaller readers here. The other group has ten games that you have to pick the winner of against the spread. You can play along with that group here. They are free to enter, so come on and match wits with the rest of the readers of RotoBaller!

Judith6074 put together the best week of the season for anyone in the group with 52 points in Week 11. Great job! She takes over the group lead with 413 points as well. Squid had the second-best week in the group with 45 points, so that was quite a victory for Judith. BKNoleGirl, The Whitetale Deer, myself, lbockenek, 2pretty4orange!, and Kev Shep also broke 40 this week.

2pretty4orange! is in second, six points behind Judith. lbockenek is one point back in third place. BKNoleGirl sits two points back in fourth. left handed freshman rounds out the top five, one point back of her. I am in sixth, two points out of the top five. Kev Shep, keepingthelittlehumansalive, Bamarick, and The Whitetale Deer round out the top ten. There is a little more separation this week with Judith holding a 42-piont lead over 10th place.

College Football Pick Em Overview

This article will follow be for the confidence game mode. You can also read my against the spread picks here every week for every game so you know how I'm leaning for that version of the game. Each week, I will recap who's dominating the group before I get into the picks. If you're going to beat everyone, all of the readers will know about it!

Let's get to the countdown! I will count them up from least confident (1) to most (10). You know, for dramatic effect. If I do change my pick or points at sometime during the week, I will try to update the article or post it on Twitter. Otherwise, you know all of my picks each week. Good luck out there. It looks like there are a few gimmes this week!

(1) Louisiana over Liberty

Malik Willis is a good story and all, but the Cajuns have only lost one game this season and it appears that they have found a workhorse back to take some of the pressure off of Levi Lewis. Liberty isn't a complete enough team to win this game. They're going to put up a fight because that's what they do, but expect the Cajuns to take one more step towards a Fun Belt title here.

(2) Oregon State over Arizona State

The Beavers are what we thought the Sun Devils would be. Jayden Daniels seems to have regressed some this year. The Sun Devils have a lot of young talent on this team, but therein lies the problem. They're inconsistent and have been for much of the year. I have this lower on the list because Arizona State is capable of winning this. I just don't trust that they will actually put things together enough to do it.

(3) Oregon over Utah

I get really nervous when a team ranked 20 slots lower is favored by more than a field goal at home. If I hadn't watched Oregon's last two games or Utah struggle with Arizona last week, I might buy into that narrative. Utah is capable of winning this, but the Oregon defense has improved a lot since the Stanford game. That's enough to give them a win in Salt Lake City.

(4) UTSA over UAB

I wouldn't be much of a UTSA fan-boy if I bailed on them now, would I? This is going to be a tough game for the Roadrunners though, so I find it prudent to move it down the list a little. This is a veteran UTSA team, so the undefeated record or National ranking shouldn't get to their heads. I think they take care of business once again.

(5) Ohio State over Michigan State

I may move this one up. I had it as my one-pointer and seriously thought about taking Michigan State, but they would need to play a nearly flawless game to beat the Buckeyes. They haven't come close to that this year. If they spot Ohio State a touchdown or two, the Buckeyes are going to run off with this. There wont be a big comeback like there was against Michigan.

(6) Wake Forest over Clemson

Clemson being favored in this game would piss me off if I played for Wake Forest. Vegas, and the bettors that are pushing this line further towards the Tigers, are completely ignoring the wonderful season that Wake has had. They aren't going to blow it here against this bumbling offense.

(7) Cincinnati over SMU

This is probably the best offense that the Bearcats have faced so far this year. SMU is finally fully healthy on offense again, which makes them a really dangerous team. I think their defense fails them again because that's what they do, but the Bearcats are really going to be pushed here. I may move this down since I wouldn't be shocked if they lost outright.

(8) Baylor over Kansas State

With the game that Baylor played last weekend, the line against Kansas State is a slap in the face and a joke. I still think Baylor might be the most complete team in the Big 12(10). Oklahoma State has my vote right now with how the defense is playing, but it's close. K-State will put up a fight, but I don't see them winning this. Not with the way the Bears played last weekend.

(9) Oklahoma over Iowa State

This is not the same Iowa State team as last year. It's not the same Oklahoma team either, but the Sooners still haven't lost back-to-back games in the regular season since 1999. That's good enough for me!

(10) Alabama over Arkansas

I have a lot of respect for how Arkansas has played and their body of work this year, but they still aren't beating the Tide. They aren't there yet.
