EPL DFS Lineup Picks for FanDuel (4/20/21) - English Premier League Soccer

Vince's FanDuel EPL DFS lineup picks for English Premier League soccer on 4/20/21. His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! Another single-game EPL slate, what's new? This spread-out gameweek continues Tuesday with another lonely game. It's not even close to our last single-game slate of the week, but Wednesday we do get a two-gamer as a nice change of pace. I will be breaking down that game in full for you here. Keep reading this breakdown for my DFS soccer picks on RotoBaller and see how to have success on Tuesday's slate.

The very large majority of my DFS content will be EPL or UCL-related, however, there is more soccer than just what is being played in England. If you want to chop it up with myself and other RotoBaller writers about non-EPL leagues or other sports, consider becoming a premium member and joining our ever-growing community of DFS and fantasy sports enthusiasts! There was some great conversation over the four UCL slates we had this week, and the Premium Slack chat is as full as ever!

In this article, I will be providing you with my English Premier League daily fantasy soccer lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/20/21 for the slate that locks at 3:00 pm ET. Be sure to also check out our other DFS lineup picks for other active sports. You can always find me on Twitter @vdray5 if you have any questions. Good luck, RotoBallers!

EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview

Chelsea vs Brighton

Originally, I wrote this game preview as if Chelsea (-170) was trying to secure a spot in the Champions League for next season, but with the groundbreaking news of a possible Super League, who knows where that leaves us. For the time being, I'll continue writing these breakdowns as if the table still does matter for qualifying spots. Chelsea got a huge break when West Ham lost Saturday, so they can hop back into the top four with a win here at home. They take on a Brighton team that are still in the midst of the relegation battle. This game should be Chelsea all the way, especially with the way Tuchel has his squad playing right now. A 4/1 Chelsea stack is definitely in the cards. The goal total over/under is 2.5.

FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders

Mason Mount ($13) has been a great place to start DFS lineups for the past few months. He is playing so well right now for Chelsea with 2 goals, one assist, 10 chances created, and six shots on goal in five games among other defensive stats. He is averaging 23.3 fantasy points in that stretch and should fare well here again in this good home matchup. He is a smart captain option with the way he stuffs the stat box. His goal upside has been good recently as well, and he has +210 anytime scoring odds.

Christian Pulisic ($11) is an elite Chelsea attacker to pair with Mount. The two correlate so well with each other, and Pulisic on on fire right now with three goals in two games. Pulisic is a very streaky scorer, so it's time to get him now in this matchup before his price rises or he cools off.

Holy price jump for Kai Havertz ($14). The guy scores his first EPL goal since October 17th and is somehow now the most expensive expected starter on the slate. Don't get me wrong though, I am intrigued with playing him in a full Chelsea stack. He was a fantastic goal scorer at Bayer Leverkusen who could be on the verge of a hot streak here trying to prove his worth as Timo Werner ($15) still struggles. Havertz has the third-best anytime goal odds among expected starters for the Blues, but you always risk a low floor when playing him this season.

Tuchel continues to praise the entirety of the Chelsea squad and always talks about how important it is to have a strong pool of players to choose from come gameday. He has shown in the past that he is not afraid of large squad rotations, so you never really know who will start a game. Something should be said for Callum Hudson-Odoi ($8) and Olivier Giroud ($11) if they start. They are nice additional pieces for a full Chelsea stack.

It's tough to recommend Brighton goal scorers on the road against a defense as strong as Chelsea's has been under Tuchel. Their only blip was the five goals they allowed to West Brom two weekends ago, and they have kept many teams scoreless lately - including Manchester City in an FA Cup semifinal last Saturday. Yves Bissouma ($6) is really the only Brighton "attacker" I'll be considering on this slate for his defensive peripherals.

FanDuel DFS Defenders

Brighton defenders are in an interesting spot here. Chelsea do not allow nearly as many defensive stats as they have in past seasons, and none of the Brighton defenders are collecting defensive peripherals that well this year outside of Lewis Dunk ($8). Dunk is a decent play, but he's a little on the expensive side of this matchup. He also gets a lot of his points off clearances, and that is the defensive stat that Chelsea forces the least. I'd prefer Jakub Moder ($5) for significantly cheaper especially if trying to jam in four Chelsea attackers.

If you go with Bissouma for your Brighton player and have the money for a defender, there are several Chelsea guys to target. Cesar Azpilicueta ($10) is the type of player who is always going to be involved regardless of the game. He has nice attacking upside with his chances created of which he has seven in the last five games. He also spreads out his defensive stats well which boosts his floor. Not to mention he's likely to come away from this game with a clean sheet bonus.

Neither of Chelsea's wingbacks - Reece James ($8) or Ben Chilwell ($9) - are showing much attacking potency right now, but they're both worth a look from an upside standpoint. It will be interesting to see if Marcos Alonso ($6) or Emerson ($4) can get a start to give James or Chilwell a rest. Antonio Rudiger ($7) is probably a safer option if that's what you're looking for from a defender. His defensive peripherals are coming at a good rate right now, and Brighton allow more defensive stats than one might think. Plus, the clean sheet bonus is in play with his as well.

Thanks for reading my EPL DFS lineup picks breakdown on RotoBaller and good luck!
