EPL DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings (10/23/21) - English Premier League Soccer Matchweek 9

Brandon's DraftKings EPL DFS lineup picks for English Premier League soccer on 10/23/21 (Matchweek 9). His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back to “The Kick-Off”! We have our first “who knows” slate. Essentially every match is a pickem even though we have favorites: Everton -157, Crystal Palace -109 and Southampton -105.

Every lineup that is built in this slate could be a GPP winning lineup and it will feel extremely uncomfortable rostering certain players you normally would not. With the matches being so close, it also would not be harmful to play central-midfielder who generate peripherals.

If you have any questions on today's slate, bankroll management, GPP strategy, Cash game strategy, or anything else don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] or via Twitter @df_solutions or on “SLACK”.

The Kick-Off - EPL Matchweek 9

Vegas Odds for the Day

[H] Crystal Palace (-109) at [A] Newcastle United (+291):  Total: 2 1/2u

The Eagles have struggled to win games recently whether they cannot score, or they cannot defend. The Magpies have just struggled the whole way, however, they are starting to get healthy once again. With Newcastle missing pieces of their midfield still and Zaha coming back for Palace, the hosts may have just enough to edge it out.

Expected Outcome: 2-1

CRY:

Cash/GPP:

D: Ward($3.8K)

M/F: Zaha($8.3K), Gallagher($7.9K)

GPP: Edouard($7.6K), Guaita(5.2K),

NEW:

Cash/GPP:

D: Ritchie($5K)

GPP: Saint-Maximin($8.6K), Wilson($8.4K)

[H] Everton (-157) at [A] Watford (+457):  Total: 2 1/2u

Over the last three meetings, Everton has won every match, while outscoring the Hornets 6-2. However, neither club has had positive results lately. Everton has lost three of their last six and Watford has lost four of their last six. Granted, Watford has only scored a single goal once in their last three fixtures. With the Toffees potentially getting back to full health, albeit Doucoure being out, they should have what it takes to win this comfortably.

Expected Outcome: 3-0 Everton

EVE:

Cash/GPP:

G: Pickford($5.7K)

M/F: Towsend($10.5K), Gray($8.2K)

GPP: Digne($6.2K), Rondon($5.3K), Iwobi($4.4K)

WAT:

Cash/GPP:

D: Rose($4.2K)

M/F: Cleverley($3.5K)

GPP: Sarr($8.1K), Hernandez($5.5K), Dennis($5.1K), Foster($3.9K)

[H] Leeds United (+136) at [A] Wolverhampton (+200):  Total: 2 1/2o

These two clubs meet once again, but at different ends of the spectrum. Leeds has lost three of their last six matches and they have only scored three goals in that span. Meanwhile, the Wolves have caught lightning in a bottle with three straight wins while outscoring their opponents 6-3. With Wolverhampton running a fully healthy attack and Leeds down plenty of key pieces, it would not be a surprise to see the hosts get shut out.

Expected Outcome: 2-0 Wolverhampton

LEE:

Cash/GPP:

M/F: Raphina($9.7K), Dallas($7.2K)

GPP: Harrison($6.7K), Rodrigo($6K), James($4.6K)

WOL:

Cash/GPP:

G: Sa($4.7K)

D: Marcal($4.3K)

M/F: Moutinho(4.9K)

GPP: Traore($7.7K), Jimenez($7.3K), Hee-Chain($6.5K)

[H] Southampton (-105) at [A] Burnley (+286):  Total: 2 1/2u

Southampton finally got their first win of the season last weekend at home against Leeds in a 1-0 affair. Meanwhile, Burnley is still without a win and they were just shut out for the second straight match in a 2-0 loss to Manchester City. With zero improvement to the attack in the offseason, Burnley will continue to struggle with goals and Southampton has proved that they can win even without James Ward-Prowse who is out due to suspension.

Expected Outcome: 1-0 Southampton

BUR:

Cash/GPP:

D: Taylor($4.6K)

M/F: McNeil($8K), Westwood($5.6K)

GPP: Cornet($4.7K), Wood($4.5K), Rodriguez($3.7K)

SOU:

Cash/GPP:

D: Livramento($4.9K)

M/F: Redmond($8K), Elyounoussi($7.4K)

GPP: Broja($5.7K), McCarthy($5.4K), Djenpo($3.3K)

Expected Corner Takers:

Newcastle: Ritchie

Crystal Palace: Gallagher

Watford: Cleverley/Rose

Everton: Townsend/Gray

Wolverhampton: Moutinho

Leeds: Raphinha/Dallas

Burnley: Westwood/McNeil

Southampton: JWP/Redmond
