EPL DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings (10/16/21) - English Premier League Soccer Matchweek 8

Brandon's DraftKings EPL DFS lineup picks for English Premier League soccer on 10/16/21 (Matchweek 8). His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back to “The Kick-Off”! We finally have club ball back after a lengthy International Break with a solid five-game slate. The slate itself has one giant favorite in Manchester City, -900. Every other matchup is quite the toss-up or pickem on the slate.

The goal of the slate is to be a little more adventurous and play teams or players you are not comfortable with. Ultimately, that will be how you ship a GPP.

If you have any questions on today's slate, bankroll management, GPP strategy, Cash game strategy, or anything else don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] or via Twitter @df_solutions or on “SLACK”.

The Kick-Off - EPL Matchweek 6

Vegas Odds for the Day

[H] Aston Villa (+120) vs [A] Wolverhampton (+243):  Total: 2 1/2u

The tale of two sides helps kick-start the return of domestic play after the International Break. Aston Villa needed the break after they lost to Tottenham coming from a two-game win streak, meanwhile, Wolverhampton could not have had the break at any worse timing with a two-game win streak. In the last three meetings, the outcome has been split with a win to each side and the most recent a draw. There have also only been two goals scored in that timeframe. This may be a snooze fest for the majority of the game.

Expected Outcome: 1-1

AVL:

Cash/GPP:

D: Targett($4.6K), Cash($4.4K)

M/F: Buendia($6.5K)

GPP: Watkins($7K), Ings($6.1K), Martinez($5.1K)

WOL:

D: Marcal($4.1K)

M/F: Moutinho($4.9K)

GPP: Traore($8.4K), Jimenez($6.7K), Hee-Chan($7.2K), Neves($4.6K), Sa($4.5K)

[H] Leicester (+260) vs [A] Manchester United (+103):  Total: 2 1/2o

Both clubs have yet to truly perform up to their standards so far this season. Both clubs also struggled heading into the International Break. The Red Devils did at least beat Villarreal in the revenge meeting during the Champions League, but they then dropped two points to Everton. The last three meetings saw one draw and the most recent two meetings wins for the Foxes. Luckily Leicester is playing hosts here, but will they have enough to hold back Manchester United?

Expected Outcome: 2-1 Manchester United

LEI:

Cash/GPP:

G: Schmeichel($4.4K)

D: Bertrand($4K)

M/F: Tielemans($6.9K)

GPP: Vardy($8.3K), Barnes($5K), Choudhury($3.3K)

MU:

M/F: Fernandes($9.3K), Ronaldo($8.9K), Greenwood($7.1K)

GPP: Sancho($5.5K), de Gea($5.3K)

[H] Manchester City (-900) vs [A] Burnley (+1950):  Total: 2 1/2o

Burnley has yet to win a match this season and their odds of doing it at the Etihad are slim to none. Over the last five meetings, Manchester City has won all of them with a combined score of 15-0. If there was ever a time to hit the “Both teams to not score prop” this is the match to do it. Manchester went into their break with a four-goal thriller that capped a draw with the Reds and Burnley drew their last two matches. With both sides missing a few players from their travel back, City will still have plenty of depth to continue their reign.

Expected Outcome: 3-0 Manchester City

GPP: McNeil($5.7K), Cornet($4.4K)Pope($3.6K)

[H] Norwich (+263) vs [A] Brighton & Hove Albion (+107):  Total: 2 1/2u

Norwich is one of a few clubs that have yet to win a match this season, even though they have deserved it once or twice. Over Norwich’s last three matches in all competitions, they have conceded 2.5 goals on average. Although Brighton is playing at Carrow Road, they still have the potential to blow up against a lackluster Canary’s defense. It would not be surprising if this is the match that makes or breaks the slate. Something to also remember is four of their last six meetings, only one club has scored and in three of those meetings, Brighton won.

Expected Outcome: 2-0 Brighton

NOR:

Cash/GPP:

D: Aarons($4.3K)

M/F: Normann($5.2K)

GPP: Pukki($5.6K), Krul($4.3K), McLean($4.2K), Giannoulis($3.9K)

BHA:

Cash/GPP:

D: Cucurella($5.1K)

M/F: Gross($9.2K), Trossard($7.6K),

GPP: Maupay($7.3K), Sanchez($5.4K), Lallana($3.6K)

[H] Southampton(+140) vs [A] Leeds United (+185):  Total: 2 1/2u

Southampton come back from International Break still looking for their first win of the season, while Leeds finally struck gold with theirs. If there was ever a time to take advantage of home field in a big game, it is in this meeting for Southampton. However, things do not look so bright for them. In four of the last six meetings, only one team has scored and in the most recent three meetings, Leeds has won all of them with a combined score of 8-0. Southampton is also without one of their top strikers Che Adams -- doubtful -- and their best midfielder James-Ward Prowse -- red card --. Leeds is also missing players like Raphinha due to flights back, but they have the quality in depth to still survive.

Expected Outcome: 2-0 Leeds

SOU:

Cash/GPP:

G:

D: Livramento($4.5K), KWP($4.2K)

M/F: Elyounoussi($6.7K),

GPP: Armstrong($5.8K), Walcott($4.5K)

LEE:

Cash/GPP:

G: Meslier($4.7K)

D:

M/F: Harrison($7.8K), Dallas($5.7K), James($4.5K)

GPP: Rodrigo($5.6K)

Expected Corner Takers:

Aston Villa: Luiz/Buendia

Wolverhampton: Moutinho

Leicester: Tielemans/Bertrand

Manchester United: Fernandes/Shaw

Manchester City: KDB/Foden

Burnley: Westwood/McNeil

Norwich: Normann/McLean

Brighton & Hove Albion: Gross/Trossard

Southampton: JWP/Elyounoussi

Leeds: Raphinha/Dallas
