NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 11/15/23

The NHL schedule makers seem to be clueless, but they have given us a fun 4-game slate tonight. Every team had the night off except for the poor Ducks who had to travel from Nashville to Colorado last night. For today's plays, I am focusing on value picks that will allow you to stack up on the big boys tonight. Let's see what we've got.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Carter Hart - DK $7.1K || FD $7.0K

Opponent - Carolina Hurricanes

In the NHL, goalies are highly unpredictable and it's rarely worth spending a lot of money on them. As a result, I've changed my approach to building lineups by selecting the cheapest goalies who will face the most shots. In this case, using Hart as our goalie makes sense because Carolina is expected to provide him with many shot opportunities. Our goal is for Hart to make at least 35 saves and allow 4 goals or less, which would be considered a good performance for him.

How will Torts make the D rotation work when Staal & Risto return?
Frost making most of latest opportunity.
Carter Hart back from injury & food poisoning. Plus lots more on today’s episode:

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Dostal (DK $7.0DK || FD 7.3K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Jordan Staal - DK $2.6K || FD $4.2K

Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers

Tonight, our goal is to find some budget-friendly players who can complement the likes of Mackinnon, McDavid, and Staal in our team. Staal is available at a minimum price on DK, making him an ideal choice. Although he has only scored one goal so far this season, he usually scores around 15-20 goals per year. Therefore, I expect him to have some good luck with the puck soon. Tonight could be an excellent opportunity for him to start performing well.

  •  Suter (DK $2.7K || FD $3.8K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Oliver Bjorkstrand - DK $4.5K || FD $4.9K

Opponent - Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers won their last game under their new coach and their star players performed well. As they play on home ice tonight, they are expected to be a popular choice. I believe that attacking the Oilers' depth is a good strategy, and the Seattle 3rd line has the potential to succeed tonight. Bjorkstrand will play a crucial role in their success.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  •  Nichushkin (DK $4.7K || FD $6.4K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Bowen Byram  - DK $3.5K || FD $4.3K

Opponent - Anaheim Ducks

I believe that Byram is a great option to consider on this slate, as he is priced similarly to Toews, who may overshadow him. However, Byram tends to shoot more than Toews, and he is the quarterback on PP2. Additionally, he blocks more shots than Toews, which was a bit surprising to me. Therefore, tonight, I would suggest stacking Byram with Makar instead of Toews. Although this may not be a popular choice, Byram's potential is much higher than Toews at this point.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Orlov  (DK 3.3$K || FD $4.5K)
  • Larsson (DK $3.5K || FD $4.6K)
