NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 10/27/23

Tonight, we have an exciting 5 game slate featuring San Jose, Carolina, Minnesota, and St. Louis, all of whom are playing back-to-back games. We also have the high-flying Devils, led by Jack Hughes, playing at home. The Kings will be in the desert to face the surprising Coyotes, and the Blues will travel to Vancouver after playing in Calgary last night. Let's get after it and see if we can find any edges tonight.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Karel Vejmelka- DK $7.5K || FD $7.4K

Opponent - Los Angeles Kings

In the last game against the Kings, Vejmelka replaced Connor Ingram as the goaltender and faced 18 shots, letting in 2 goals. However, some people who only look at DK logs might see the 4.2 pts and assume that he was shelled. That is not the case though. Vejmelka has been performing really well this season with a .942 sv %, an 1.85 GAA, and 16.8 FPPG. This year's Arizona team has been more competitive at the start of the season, and I believe they will come out strong tonight.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Jordan Binnington (DK $ 7.4DK || FD 6.8K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Jordan Staal - DK $2.8K || FD $4.3K

Opponent - San Jose Sharks

On today's slate, Staal is priced as the 28th center. However, it seems like no one will play him. We are perfectly fine with that as we can take advantage of the savings he gives us. Additionally, Staal brings a lot of potential on home ice as he is the Canes' top shutdown center. Through two home games, he has 1 goal, 1 assist, 4 shots, and 3 blocked shots for an average of 11.7 fantasy points. Therefore, we can confidently expect a decent floor of 4x points tonight against the Sharks.

Looking at the big boys for tonight's slate, we need to find some value to pair with them. Mr. Staal should be your first look. The Sharks team looked tired against TB last night and now has to play in Carolina against a Canes team that dominates on home ice.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Suter  (DK $2.6K || FD $3.4K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Ilya Mikheyev - DK $3.9K || FD $4.5K

Opponent - St.Louis Blues

Mikheyev, who was my top waiver wire add last week, has played in two games since returning from injury. He has put up eight shots, scored one goal, and provided one assist. Mikheyev continues to patrol the wing on the top line for the Canucks. They are set to play against the Blues tonight, who are on a back-to-back after playing in Calgary last night. The Blues are seventh worst in the NHL for shots allowed/60 on the road. Mikheyev's speed should give the Blues' slow-footed defense trouble all game.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Grundstrom (DK $2.5K || FD $4.0K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Quinn Hughes- DK $5.3K || FD $6.4K

Opponent - St.Louis Blues

Hughes and Dobson share a common trait of being consistently overlooked despite performing well. Hughes manages an average of 13.4 fantasy points while playing for more than 25 minutes every night. Additionally, the Blues have allowed a high number of shots to defensemen this season, making their 20th-ranked penalty kill vulnerable to the Canucks' third-ranked power play. Given the speed of the Canucks, the Blues will be at a disadvantage if they end up in the box a lot tonight.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Slavin (DK $4.7K || FD $5.8K)
  • Gavrikov (DK $2.9K || FD $3.9K)
