DraftKings DFS – NBA Fantasy Basketball Advice & Value Picks (5/9/15)

The toughest part about making DFS picks during the playoffs is that you never really know who is going to show up each night. There are a plethora of basement level price players that can help your lineup reach that cherished 330+ mark of NBA DFS perfection.

When it comes drafting that lineup you need to find those players that will free up enough cap space to stack the remaining spots with superstars like Stephen Curry (GS, G - $10,600), Paul Millsap (ATL, F - $8,800), and Marc Gasol (MEM, C - $8,000), who are all must-starts tonight. To avoid repetition, instead of going over why you should pick the starters on each team for reasons you already know, I will pick one value pick from every team.

These picks are all riskier options but have the ability to easily exceed value and since they are all NBA players... they are pretty good at basketball regardless. Any player that is given enough minutes has the chance to create a name for themselves and is exactly what some players are doing. Be on the look out for these time bombs as every night gives any player a window of opportunity to make a statement.

Atlanta Hawks @ Washington Wizards

Kent Bazemore - ATL, G - $2,100

When I mean value players, I mean scraping at the bottom of the barrel. Kent Bazemore, along with a few others are gems waiting to be uncovered. Bazemore has proven that he can shoot the basketball and went 100% from the field and 3PT range. He should carry this into next game and can hopefully manage a few extra minutes. He is a valuable player on a stacked team so minutes are very limited, around 15-20 every game. Regardless of if the Hawks are up or down by a large margin, Bazemore should see an increase in minutes.

Ramon Sessions - WAS, G - $4,600

Although his price has risen substantially and John Wall is endure whether he will play in game three, Ramon Sessions had a great game two and can carry the workload passed onto him from Wall. Sessions was a very exciting player to watch and I, along with many others look forward to seeing what he can do tonight. The importance of a Wizards victory will fall on the shoulders of Sessions and Bradley Beal as they are the ones that need to generate the most offense. Sessions has the ability to hit value and the price increase should not be enough to scare you away from taking this value pick.

Golden State Warriors @ Memphis Grizzlies

Leandro Barbosa - GS, G - $2,200

2014-15 MVP Stephen Curry said that Leandro Barbosa was fast during his acceptance speech, he was not lying. If you were watching game two, Barbosa exemplified his explosiveness multiple times at ended up with 14 points. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson needed help from Barbosa and the rest of the bench to produce on offense in game two and hopefully he can get extra minutes going forward. He has proven that he can score and can generate offense on his own which is a valuable trait for a player that is extremely cheap. He should manage to hit and exceed value today if he can garner up the minutes.

Vince Carter - MEM, G - $2,600

For an older player that has switched his method of attack from driving and dunking, to a smooth outside jumper, Vince Carter has been proving doubters wrong every night. His jump shot is lethal when he gets going but in this series he has been able to produce through rebound and assists rather than points. Everyone knows that Carter is capable to hit multiple threes a game and his added surplus in rebounds and assists makes him one of the most valuable players today. Carter will eventually find his stroke and game three is a perfect opportunity. He is playing at home and Carter should look to have a solid outing and exceed is value.
