DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (10/23/18): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on October 23, 2018. Justin Bales' NBA DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We have a nine-game slate to kick off our NBA week and we should be in for a good one tonight. As the season goes on, we will get into more stats and usage rates, but with the season being so young, we don't have a ton to go on.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/23/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on DraftKings.

You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks and our Premium DFS Cheat Sheet. And don't forget to check out our brand new NBA DFS Matchup Ratings tool with daily player projections. As always, don't set your lineups to early and check player statuses prior to opening tip. Give me a follow on Twitter @BalesSJustin with questions or comments. Good luck everyone.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Jrue Holiday - PG/SG, vs LAC ($7,400)

Holiday is an interesting player. He struggled while most New Orleans dominated in their first game, totaling only 28.25 fantasy points in 38 minutes. He then scored 43.5 fantasy points in only 27 minutes against the Sacramento Kings, sitting out the entire fourth quarter. New Orleans features arguably the best offense in the NBA, and Holiday's first game seems like a bit of an outlier. He's still relatively cheap for the situation he's in, and he comes with tremendous upside.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - PG, at NO ($3,900)

Gilgeous-Alexander isn't a great player yet, but he's worth a look tonight. He's playing minutes in the mid-20s, and he's a versatile option while on the floor. Through three games, he's averaging 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists (19.3 fantasy points) in 25.4 minutes per game. He gets a fast paced matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans in a game that should score a plethora of points, and SGA is a cheap way to get minutes in this game.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Dario Saric - SF/PF, at DET ($6,100)

I originally had Ben Simmons slated here, but he's doubtful for tonight. Saric has found his footing after a rough opener, scoring 33 and 36.25 fantasy points in his last two games. Most importantly, he played 38 minutes in his last game with Simmons injured. Saric should be locked into big minutes for the Sixers, and he should easily hit value at his current price tag.

Nemanja Bjelica - SF/PF, at DEN ($4,600)

Bjelica has looked outstanding in two of three games this season. In those games, he's averaging 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals (33.4 fantasy points) in 29.0 minutes per game. He only scored 6.75 fantasy points in 11 minutes against the New Orleans Pelicans, though. Bjelica is expected to see minutes in the high-20s tonight, making him one of the best options on the board for his price tag.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Anthony Davis - PF/C, vs LAC ($11,400)

Davis is in an interesting position. He's still too cheap, but some people may avoid him if they're only looking at box scores. In his last game, he scored 54.5 fantasy points, but only played 27 minutes. He sat out the entire fourth quarter, or his line could've looked similar to his 77 fantasy point performance in his first game. His usage rating is sitting around 30%, and he can contribute in each of the five categories. Davis is one of the best plays on the slate.
