DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (1/23/17): NBA DFS Advice

With the NFL season coming to an end, NBA DFS is in full swing and we have a nine game slate to kick off our week. Big slate means we have plenty of studs and plenty of value plays to fill out your rosters. Some great options whether you are looking to build a cash lineup or GPP. So sit back, read up, and let's win some contests.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/23/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Austin Rivers - PG/SG, @ ATL ($5,900)

With Chris Paul going down with an injury, Austin Rivers has seen a huge uptick in minutes and he is putting up the numbers. Losing an all-star point guard is never a good thing, but the Clippers are seeming to make it work, even though they still don't have Blake Griffin back either. They need players to step up, and Rivers is one of those players to do so. Rivers is a great cash game option, as he has scored 25 points per game in four straight. Really consistent and he offers some great salary relief to boot. Rivers is up against Atlanta, who is giving up 48 points per game to point guards.

Kyrie Irving - PG, vs NO ($7,900)

Irving is a great option for either cash or GPP rosters tonight. He has a very favorable match up vs the Pelicans who are giving up 48 points per game to point guards. The Cavs are coming off of a close loss on Saturday night to the Spurs, and I don't see a team like the Cavs losing two straight. This should be a high scoring game, so this could be a spot to do a bit of a game stack to try and soak up much of the offensive production on both sides. Irving has scored 38 points or more in three of his last four games and we know he has the ability to go off and break the 50 point barrier.

George Hill - PG, vs OKC ($6,600)

Hill is somewhat of a sneaky option at point guard, because he isn't super expensive, but also isn't that cheap. And he also doesn't play in a super explosive offense, so some DFS players make look away from him, as there isn't a ton of upside. But even with all that said, he is consistent, and tonight has a favorable match up vs the Thunder who are giving up 47 points per game to point guards. The Thunder are known for their offense, aka Russell Westbrook show, but they really aren't that good on defense. Love this spot for Hill tonight.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Kawhi Leonard - SF, @ BKN ($9,400)

Leonard is on some kind of streak right now. He has scored scored 30 real points or more in six straight games, and he has a great opportunity to extend that tonight vs one of the worst defensive teams, the Brooklyn Nets. Leonard has scored 49 DraftKings points or more in four straight games. That is amazing and his price hasn't hit the 10k level yet. He is a great option for GPP lineups, since you will need a player to build around. All-star on a hot streak, vs one of the worst teams in the league, not much else to say, lock him in.

Tobias Harris - SF/PF, vs SAC ($6,200)

Harris has scored 36 DraftKings points or more in two of his last three games and with a game tonight vs the Kings, he is in a good spot to add to that streak. The Kings are allowing 41 points per game to small forwards, and with their starting small forward Rudy Gaygoing down with an injury, the Kings are using a rotation of bench players to pick up the slack. Needless to say, the Kings weren't great on defense to begin with, and now are in an even tougher spot. You may want to grab a few players from the Pistons tonight, to jump on their match up.

Marreese Speights - PF, @ ATL ($4,300)

Speights is one of the Clippers players who has seen more time off the bench with the injury to Blake Griffin.Over his last ten games, he has average more than a point per minute in eight of those games. For his price, that type of production and value is unbelievable. So even if he only gets on the court for 20 minutes, he is on pace to have at least 20 points. That is exactly what you are looking for when it comes to a role player. He provides salary relief, and will get you points.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Marcin Gortat - C, @ CHA ($5,800)

Gortat is strictly a cash game option for tonight, since he doesn't really have any big upside and is a true role player in the Washington offense. He is somewhat consistent of late, 22 points or more in nine of his last ten games. He gets good rebounds and some easy looks on offense since he shares the court with, John Wall and Bradley Beal. He offers some great salary relief on a big slate. He also has a really solid match up vs the Hornets who are giving up a whopping 52 points per game to centers.

David Lee - C, @ BKN ($5,500)

With the injury to Pau Gasol going down to injury, it looks like Lee is going to see a big increase in his playing time. In the two games since he has seen more playing time, Lee has scored 38 and 35 points. Those are some huge games for a journeyman role player. At his price, he not only provides salary relief for you, but gives you exposure to a match up the Nets, who are giving up a league worst 54 points per game to centers.
