DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/19/20) - MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/19/20. Brian Entrekin's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We head into Saturday night with an 11 game slate on tap. After another evening with offense galore we have to navigate the high priced bats, which you will need some of, and the strong pitching options as well. There are some high priced arms, but also some value that may open up some bats. Finding tonight's "Football" scoring lineup will be the key to the GPP wins.

When looking at the slate the top-priced arm is Trevor Bauer who has been absolutely amazing this season, but he is going up against the strong White Sox lineups. I favor Bauer in this matchup, but there is some risk and with the need for all the bats I will likely pass today. Kershaw has been great but in Coors, I will definitely pass at that price. You will want to get some Dodgers in your lineup yet again and it is doable with some other values today. Look to the Rays as one major source of value bats. There are many ways to go today, so do not hesitate to ask me any questions.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/19/2020. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Corbin Burnes - P, MIL vs KC ($8,000)

The man, the myth, the legend Corbin Burnes has been nothing short of amazing this season. It took a little while for the Brewers to allow Burnes to join the rotation and once the reigns were off he has flourished. In his last four starts, he has allowed one total run, yes only one, while striking out 38 over 23.2 innings. Besides striking out 42.4% he also has a 50% groundball rate and only a 6.7% walk rate. He is limiting the hard contact to 28% and has been light out. He faces a Royals team who strikes out 24.2% of the time vs RHP with a .241 average and a .156 ISO. Burnes is way way way too cheap tonight and should be in a lot of lineups.

Ian Anderson - P, ATL at NYM ($8,900)

Anderson has made four starts since his promotion to the bigs and has lived up to the prospect hype. He has pitched at least six innings in three of four starts and has allowed two runs or less in all four outings. He has also scored 24.7 or more DK points in three of four starts. He has brought the strikeout stuff as well, striking out six or more in three of four starts. He's limiting the quality of contact in a big way allowing barrels only 2% of the time with a 34% hard-hit rate. He faces a Mets team that can put a lefty-heavy lineup out and so far this season Anderson has allowed LHH to only hit .114 with a .173 wOBA. Anderson should come in lower owned than he should be tonight and makes for an intriguing 1-2 punch with Burnes.

Other Options: Trevor Bauer (CIN vs CWS) $10,800, Lance Lynn (TEX at LAA) $9,500, Kris Bubic (KC at MIL) $6,600

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Daulton Varsho - C/OF, AZ at Christian Javier ($2,900)

Varsho has started to heat up with some regular playing time with the DBacks. He is not hitting for a major average but over his last six games, he is drawing walks 16% of the time while also hitting with power. His average is only .190 over those six games, but his ISO is .286 with a .338 wOBA. He has three extra-base hits and has even thrown in two stolen bases. He has scored double-digit DK points in three of his last six games and four of his last eight. On a night when Will Smith is a great play, but pricey, Varsho allows for some strong savings with some GPP upside vs Javier.

Other Options: Will Smith (LAD at COL) $4,700

Edwin Rios - 1B/3B, LAD at Chi Chi Gonzalez  ($3,300)

I mentioned that savings will be needed tonight and Rios is a strong source of savings. He has hit safely in three straight games with two home runs over those three games. He has hit safely in four of his last five starts and is also walking 13% of the time over that stretch. His ability to hit with power and also take the walk helps rack up the fantasy goodness that leads to strong DK production. He has scored 12 or more DK points in four of those five starts and should be on his way to another strong night vs Gonzalez. Chi Chi is allowing LHH to hit .467 this season with a .542 wOBA and nearly 3 HR/9. The Dodgers should have a ton of fun tonight and Rios should be a part of the party.

Other Options: Nate Lowe (TB at BAL) $2,800

D.J. LeMahieu - 2B/3B, NYY at Chris Mazza  ($5,600)

The second base position is pretty weak tonight and paying up seems to be the answer. Who better to pay up for than LeMahieu? He is leading off for the Bronx Bombers and is riding an 11 game hitting streak into tonight's juicy matchup vs Mazza. Over the 11 games, DJ is hitting .378 with a .555 wOBA while also walking 16.7% of the time. He does it all atop the Yankees lineup and continuously puts up double-digit DK games. LeMahieu is about as safe as they come at any position so lock him into cash and do not forget about him when stacking the Yankees as he brings plenty of power too.

Other Options- Ozzie Albies (ATL at NYM) $4,500

Austin Riley - 3B, ATL at David Peterson ($3,800)

Another bit of savings for tonight's action. Riley went deep last night while hitting safely for his third straight game. He has also hit safely in six of his last seven games. He faces a lefty in Peterson tonight who is a heavy sinker ball pitcher who pitches to a lot of contact and when he is off it can get bad quickly. He has allowed home runs in each of his last two starts as well. Riley prefers hitting vs RHP, but the Braves bats are red hot and Riley is a strong GPP value when looking for some savings tonight.

Other Options: Edwin Rios (LAD at COL) $3,300, Nate Lowe (TB at BAL) $2,800

Corey Seager - SS at Chi Chi Gonzalez ($5,300)

As mentioned above, Chi Chi loves giving it up to LHH. The Dodgers have a whole lot of lefties and Seager is one that is having a heck of a 2020 season. He has multi-hit games in his first two nights in Coors and has also hit safely in six of his last eight games. Over that stretch, he is hitting .314 with a .397 wOBA and five extra-base hits. He is pricey tonight but makes for a great play with double-digit DK upside.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Kole Calhoun - OF, AZ at Christian Javier ($4,200)

Talk about a player riding a hot streak, Kole Calhoun has been en fuego over his current four-game hitting streak. He hit two home runs last night and has five home runs over his four games, homering in three of four games. He is hitting .471 with a .754 wOBA and a 382 wRC+. He faves Javier tonight who has been prone to give up the long ball this season, especially vs LHH. On the season lefties are only hitting .238, but they have a .332 wOBA and hit 2 HR/9 vs Javier. Calhoun is still a strong value and is worth riding that hot streak while you can.

Mookie Betts- OF, LAD at Chi Chi Gonzalez ($6,100)

I feel dirty writing about Betts as I usually do not write about Captain Obvious plays, but I could not resist. Betts has hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games and is riding a seven-game hitting streak into action tonight. Over the seven games he has a .420 wOBA, has four extra-base hits, and has stolen three bases He is hitting everything right now and while most will target Chi Chi with LHH, rightfully so, Betts is a must when stacking the Dodgers tonight.

Kyle Tucker - OF, HOU vs Luke Weaver ($4,400)

It was not that long ago that Tucker was scorching the earth and everyone was rejoicing the arrival of the heralded prospect. Then like all good things, they came to an end as a cold streak happened. He may be waking up now as he is riding a four-game hitting streak into tonight's action, including back to back double-digit DK nights. Over the four games, he has a strong 50% hard-hit rate, just showcasing the fact he may be getting locked in yet again. He faces Weaver tonight who has struggled vs LHH allowing them to hit .314 with a .425 wOBA and 3.2 HR/9. Jump back on the Kyle Tucker wagon.

  • Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies (Chi Chi Gonzalez, RHP)
  • New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox (Chris Mazza, RHP)
  • Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles (Jorge Lopez, RHP)
  • Sneaky Stack- Seattle Mariners vs San Diego Padres (Mike Clevinger, RHP)
