DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/11/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on August 11th, 2019. Austyn Varney's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome to Wednesday baseball on DraftKings! While football season is well under way and most eyes are over there, DraftKings hasn't slowed down with the MLB tournaments. They feature the $100k Four Ball Special, but there are plenty of other big tourneys at much lower price points. There is a lot to love on this slate, and it should be a very fun tournament night.

There is another game in Coors Field, so we'll ignore that again. The Cardinals and Rockies are two of the top teams on the entire slate and you can play them in both cash games and tournaments. I don't want to crowd thee entire article with just two teams, so don't come knocking if Coors is the only way to win the slate. Let's get to some top plays outside of that game.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/11/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. .

Things change quickly as lineups come out. If you have any questions, hit me up on Twitter @VarneyDFS and I'd be more than happy to help.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Sonny Gray - CIN @ SEA - $10,600

Sonny Gray went through a few rough seasons where he just couldn’t reach his full potential, whether it was due to injury or simply not playing well. He seems to have finally put it all together this season, posting a sub .285 wOBA against both lefties and righties while striking out 11 batters per nine innings. He’ll now travel into Seattle to take on a Mariners squad that ranks 25th in baseball to righties at home with a .296 team wOBA. Gray is getting a huge ballpark bump and facing a team that relies on the long ball vs righties. The order is depleted and I see a big game out of Gray. He’s a great play in cash games and tournaments and I like him over Strasbourg.

Marco Gonzales - SEA vs CIN - $8,300

We’re actually going to stay in the same game and attack the Reds, who aren’t a very good hitting team themselves and are moving from a hitters paradise to T-Mobile Park. It may not be as deterrent to power as it’s friendly service provider AT&T Park, but it isn’t much better. Gonzales is a reverse splits lefty with a phenomenal change-up and better strikeout stuff vs righties. The Reds will toss at least six of them into the lineup and I expect this game to be fairly low scoring. If you’re a betting man, I love the under in this game. There are a lot of options in the mid range, however and you can consider Cole Hamels and Steven Matz as well.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

J.T. Realmuto - PHI vs. ATL (Keuchel) - $4,500

Realmuto is arguably the hottest hitter in baseball and now gets another great match-up. Dallas Keuchel used to be great, but a .339 wOBA and 20 XBH in 70 innings vs righties tells you what you need to know. Realmuto on the other hand, has posted a .362 wOBA against lefties and has hit 24 home runs on the season. He’s the top catcher play on the slate and all we can do is hope he won’t be too highly owned.

Jose Abreu - CWS vs. KC (Sparkman) - $4,800

Sparkman is easily one of the worst pitchers in baseball and you should have no reservations against targeting this guy. His weird head doesn’t even fit a baseball hat correctly, c'mon? On the season, he’s given up a .362 opposing wOBA with 27 home runs in 110 innings of work. While Jose Abreu is a menace against lefties, he’s still hit 23 of his 31 homers against righties and has held a .320+ wOBA. Runners should be on base for the White Sox and I see Abreu driving them in.

Jose Altuve - HOU vs. OAK (Anderson) - $5,000

The Athletics gave the Astros a taste of their own medicine, scoring 21 runs on Wade Miley and crew just a game after the Astros poured in 15 and 21 runs in back to back nights. They’ll have a chance for some payback with Brett Anderson taking the mound. The lefty has allowed a .362 wOBA to opposing righties and has a huge home run problem. It’s tough to spend so much at second base, but Altuve is typically under owned and has a lot more home run upside than people realize. Especially at home where he literally aims for the short Crawford boxes.

Yoan Moncada - CWS vs. KC (Sparkman) - $4,800

I’m a big fan of the White Sox tonight. I know they’re not a top offense in the league, but I’m hoping that just drives the ownership down against gas can Glenn Sparkman. He’s terrible against both sides of the plate, while having home run and stolen base issues. Yoán Moncada, while a switch-hitter, is far better against righties (.391 wOBA) and has more SB potential. His price is fair on DraftKings and he doesn’t take up much of an opportunity cost at third base. Moncada is my favorite hitter in this team and I love stacking 1-5.

Manny Machado - SD vs. CHC (Hamels) - $4,200

I actually like Come Hamels quite a bit tonight, but I also like Manny Machado. His ownership will be extremely low and he’s still a .450 wOBA hitter against lefties. Hamels isn’t all that great at this point and could easily give up a solo home run or few to this order. Machado is way too cheap on DraftKings and I have no worries about playing him in either format. You can obviously go Bregman or Bichette here if you have the money, but I just see Machado far too cheap and nobody will be taking advantage.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

George Springer - HOU vs. OAK (Anderson) - $5,400

Jose Altuve is one thing, but George Springer has ridiculous power and has sported a .421 wOBA against lefties on the season. Brett Anderson is truly one of the worst pitchers on the entire slate and he has huge home run issues. That doesn't bode well against an Astros team that can hit as many home runs as any team out there. The Astros are my favorite stack of the night and I really don't think they'll be overly popular.

Andrew Benintendi - BOS @ TOR (Thornton) - $4,000

We haven't touched on the Red Sox yet, but Trent Thornton is not a good pitcher and he'll be forced to face off with a tough Red Sox squad that's just as good on the road. The Sox have disappointed overall, but they're still one of the best offenses in the league. Andrew Benintendi has sported a .373 wOBA against righties on the season and Fenway Park is way tougher on left-handed power. The Red Sox overall have a lot of upside tonight and don't have much love from the general public.

Things change quickly as lineups come out. If you have any questions, hit me up on Twitter @VarneyDFS and I'd be more than happy to help.
