DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/22/18): MLB DFS Lineups

With the OAK/CWS game postponed on Thursday, a doubleheader was scheduled for Friday. DraftKings removed the second OAK/CWS matchup from the slate, giving us a 14-game docket for Friday.

As for the Vegas lines, four games have over/unders of at least nine total runs. The MIA/COL matchup leads the way with an over/under of 11.5 total runs. The Rockies are strong favorites in that contest. Speaking of favorites, three teams have odds of -200, or greater: Cleveland, Colorado, and Houston.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/22/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @CharlieSideHstl.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Dallas Keuchel, HOU (vs. KC) - $8,400

The team with the strongest odds to get the win on Friday belongs to Houston. The Astros are -230, according to Vegas, yet Keuchel is only the 10th-most expensive option on the board. Even though the Royals are a tough team to strike out (30th in team Ks this season), Keuchel was able to K five Kansas City batters in his last outing. He’ll look to replicate, or even improve, on his 6 IP, 0 ER (2 R) performance. Also, the Royals are 29th in team wOBA (.290) against left-handed pitchers.

Jon Gray, COL (vs. MIA) - $7,700

Feeling lucky? Yes, it’s a tremendous risk to start a pitcher at Coors Field, but the player pool isn’t stocked with top tier options and Gray is a bargain at his price. He’s also tallied at least nine strikeouts in back-to-back outings. Gray is facing a Miami team that is 29th in runs scored (266 runs in 75 games) and 10th in team strikeouts (653) this season.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C - Nick Hundley, SF (vs. SD) - $3,400

This Giants backstop leads the team with a .295 ISO against left-handed pitchers. Hundley plays his best at AT&T Park. This season, Hundley has a .321 AVG at home and a .219 AVG on the road. In 2018, Hundley also has a .315 AVG against southpaws and a .222 AVG against righties.

1B - Buster Posey, SF (vs. SD) - $3,800

Like his teammate, Posey is also a better hitter at home this season. He has a .357 AVG at AT&T Park and a .241 AVG on the road. Posey is also profittable against lefties. He currently owns a .307 AVG this year and a .210 ISO since 2017. In his career, Posey is 12-for-32 (.375) with four extra-base hits (two home runs) against Clayton Richard.

2B - DJ LeMahieu, COL (vs. MIA) - $4,800

As I write this, the Rockies own a projected run total of 6.8, which is 1.1 points higher than the second team in the slate (5.7 for Cleveland). As for LeMahieu, he’s 11-for-32 (.344) with four doubles and one home run in the past week. He’s also tallied at least two hits in back-to-back games.

3B - Jose Ramirez, CLE (vs. DET) - $5,600

With Cleveland as the team with the second-highest implied run total (5.7 runs), it would be wise to add a player, or two, from that club, too. Ramirez is the leader in the clubhouse when it comes to Cleveland batters facing right-handed pitchers. He has a .303 ISO against righties since 2017 and is a career .375 hitter (6-for-16) with one double and one home run against Mike Fiers.

SS - Didi Gregorius, NYY (@ TB) - $4,800

It was a hot April, slow May, and now a hot June for Gregorius this season. He’s batting .323 with three home runs this month and has a .393 AVG (11-for-28) with one triple and one home run this week. Gregorius is also sporting a seven-game hitting streak. He also has a .240 ISO against right-handed pitchers since 2017.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Odubel Herrera, PHI (@ WSH) - $4,600

This is my favorite hitter of the slate on Friday. Herrera has homered in four-straight games (five of the past six) and is batting .423 (11-for-26) with two doubles and five home runs in the past week. Also, Herrera is hitting .419 (13-for-31) with five extra-base hits against Tanner Roark. Hot bat and hot BvP is a winning formula for any DFS position.

Adam Duvall, CIN (vs. CHC) - $3,500

Even with Joey Votto in the lineup, Duvall has the highest ISO on the Reds against left-handed pitchers (.286). In the past week, Duvall has a .333 AVG (6-for-18) with two doubles and one home run. He’s also produced an average of one extra-base hit in the past three contests.

Lonnie Chisenhall, CLE (vs. DET) - $3,200

For those who read my posts on a regular basis (Monday/Wednesday/Friday), you’ve probably noticed that I have made Chisenhall a staple in my DK lineups. He’s been a reliable hitter and DraftKings refuses to adjust his pricing. Granted, Chisenhall was removed from Wednesday’s start with calf soreness. However, he’s batting .455 in the past week and .385 in the month of June. Chisenhall also has a .218 ISO against righties since 2017 and a career .400 AVG against Fiers.
