DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/30/21): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/30/21. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We have a typical 10-game main slate on DraftKings today starting at 1:05 pm Eastern. We have no Coors, a few aces, a rookie in Yankee Stadium, a lefty against Cleveland, and the first finale of a Royals-Twins series in 2021. Those are never quiet. Let's get to this!

The only rain concern is in Boston, and it's a big one. So much so that they are going to have a real problem getting this game in at all. I'm dropping this out of my player pool all together, which is unfortunate because I was strongly considering Sandy Alcantara today. If  that game does play, there's a stout 15 mph wind in from center. The wind will also be in from center in Pittsburgh.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/30/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Max Scherzer - WAS vs. MIL ($10,800)

Scherzer is up to his old tricks with at least 20 DraftKings points in five straight starts. He boasts a sterling 1.80 ERA and 0.71 WHIP at home this year. He has allowed seven homers in five home starts, but if guys aren't on base, who cares? I'm more looking at the elite strikeout rates once again. The return of Christian Yelich hasn't helped much as the Brewers are still hitting just .210 in May with a .298 OBP. You're not winning many games that way. That problem is just exacerbated with Mad Max on the hill.

Steven Matz - TOR at CLE ($7,500)

Playing four home games in Dunedin didn't help Matz's cause any. His ERA was 5.23 there. It is a much more manageable 3.71 on the road. The 41 strikeouts in 34 road innings give you a little extra bang for your buck as do the five wins in six starts. Despite the good win/loss record, Cleveland has not hit well as a team this year. Even with Franmil Reyes (abdomen) and Jordan Luplow (ankle) healthy, they were only hitting .214 against lefties. They are even worse without him in the lineup. There's a lot of potential for Matz today.

Other Options: Brandon Woodruff ($10,100), Lucas Giolito ($9,600), Tyler Mahle ($7,900), Kyle Freeland ($5,800)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Salvador Perez - C, KC at MIN ($4,800)

Here's hoping that Salvy is at least the DH today against the Twins. He is 9-for-15 in his career against Matt Shoemaker with two homers and five RBI. Yes, it's a small sample size, but that's a lot of success within said sample. If Perez is in the KC lineup today, he'll be in mine as well.

Jose Abreu - 1B, CWS vs. BAL ($6,200)

Abreu is starting to heat up. After a pedestrian April, Abreu has come on in May, particularly over the last 10 games. Abreu is hitting .351 with three homers and 12 RBI in that span. Baltimore is sending a rookie lefty to the hill and backing him up with a beleaguered bullpen.  What could possibly go wrong? Abreu had five RBI in yesterday's doubleheader and has driven in 10 runs in his last five games. He's worth the price right now.

Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU vs. SD ($4,600)

Something is off with Snellzilla, especially on the road. He has a horrible 7.86 ERA in five road starts despite only losing one of those games. We don't care so much about wins or losses. However, I do care about Altuve's three career homers against Snell in just 13 at bats. Given the road struggles and past performance, Altuve is one of my favorite spots today.

Eugenio Suarez - 3B, CIN at CHC ($4,100)

Suarez is leading off for the Reds lately, and who can say no to another couple of at bats from Suarez? Especially against a pitcher like Jake Arrieta. Suarez is 5-for-15 lifetime against Arrieta with two homers. The wind won't be aiding much at Wrigley today with a slight breeze in from right, but it's always good hitting weather with a guy like Arrieta on the mound.

Fernando Tatis Jr. - SS, SD at HOU ($5,800)

Don't let the name Zack Greinke knock you off of this. Tatis is hitting everything right now. He is averaging 21.1 DraftKings points per game over the last ten games. He is hitting .457 in that span with six homers and a staggering 22 RBI. That's 22 of his 36 RBI on the season in the last ten games. I don't care who he's facing. Fade at your own risk.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Christian Yelich - OF, MIL at WAS ($5,300)

Yes, I do realize that Max Scherzer is on the mound. Despite being one of the league's elite pitchers, Scherzer does give up his share of home runs. He has allowed six in his last five starts. Yelich has always hit Max well. He is 10-for-29 (.345) with three homers, four runs scored, and five RBI in his career against Scherzer. So what if he's struck out eight times? Those don't count against us in DFS! We're here for the homers!

Robbie Grossman - OF, DET at NYY ($3,600)

Grossman is one of the few bright spots in the Tigers offense right now. He's batting leadoff, which does afford him the opportunity to be involved in most of the things the Tigers do on offense. The Yankees do have a good bullpen, so a bullpen game for them doesn't mean what it does to most of the league. However, Grossman does have two hits, including a homer and a steal, so far in this series.

Clint Frazier - OF, NYY vs. DET ($2,400)

It has been a rough year so far for Frazier. He is hitting just .172 despite playing in 43 games. All of the peripheral numbers are predictably low as well. Both of his stolen bases on the year came in the same game! He's not getting us much, but we do have Frazier at a bargain against Tarik Skubal here. We need value somewhere on this slate, and Frazier is a cheap spot in a potent lineup against a guy who has given up 11 homers in 43 innings pitched this year.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • New York Yankees vs. Tarik Skubal
  • Minnesota Twins vs. Kansas City Royals game stack
  • Chicago White Sox vs. Keegan Akin
  • Sneaky Stack: San Diego Padres vs. Zack Greinke
