DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/2/18): MLB DFS Lineups

There are a plethora of games that are going to be played today, but they are broken down into two slates. The early slate is more than playable, but I'll be focusing on the later slate here.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/2/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

DraftKings Starting Pitchers

Jacob deGrom - P, vs ATL ($11,500)

deGrom has been enjoying an elite season, recording a 3-0 record, 2.06 ERA, and 1.04 WHIP through six starts. He also posted an 11.0 K/9 to go along with a 0.5 HR/9 early this season. He gets a decent matchup against the Braves, who have struggled at times this season, and deGrom is a -160 favorite in a game set at 7 runs. He can be used in all leagues.

Zack Godley - P, vs LAD ($7,600)

Godley has had a few ups and downs this season, but he has thrown well at home. Through two starts in Arizona, he has a 2-0 record, 2.19 ERA, and 0.97 WHIP. He has also posted a solid 8.0 K/9 without allowing a home run at home. He gets a decent matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who rank last on the slate in strikeouts per at-bat. He's a -111 favorite in a game set at only 7.5 runs. Godley can be considered in all leagues tonight.

DraftKings Infielders

Jorge Alfaro - C, at MIA ($3,000)

Alfaro hasn't necessarily been playing well recently, but he's a cheap option that comes with tremendous power. He has been a significantly better option against right-handed pitching, recording elite .252 wOBA and .241 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching. In his short career, Alfaro is hitting .305 with 100% of his home runs coming against right-handed pitching. He's a high upside option.

Matt Olson - 1B, at SEA ($3,700)

Olson has been playing well recently, hitting .294 with a .382 slugging percentage and a .782 OPS over his last 10 games. He has struggled with power this season, recording only three home runs through 28 games. With that being said, he features a 43% hard-hit rate over the last 15 days, suggesting his power will be on display shortly. Olson gets a tough matchup, but this is too cheap for a player that possesses his upside.

Asdrubal Cabrera - 2B, vs ATL ($3,900)

Cabrera has been playing at an elite level for the majority of the season. Through 25 games, he's hitting .340 with a .580 slugging percentage and a .973 OPS. He also features a 0.104 wOBA differential against left-handed pitching, and gets a good matchup against Sean Newcomb. Cabrera's price tag still does not represent how well he has been playing, and he's an elite option in all leagues.

Travis Shaw - 3B, at CIN ($4,200)

Shaw is a powerful player that is hitting in a hitter friendly stadium tonight. Over his last 10 games, 71.4% of his hits have gone for extra-bases, including three home runs. He dominates right-handed pitching, and will benefit from the stadium. Shaw should not be used in cash games for his price, but he is an elite tournament option.

Nick Ahmed - SS, vs LAD ($3,300)

Ahmed is a player that can always be considered against left-handed pitching. He currently features 0.196 wOBA and 0.19 ISO differentials against lefties. Ahmed has also been playing at a high level over his last 10 games, recording a .306 average with a .639 slugging percentage and a 1.014 OPS. Ahmed is also hitting over .300 at home this season, and he can be used in all leagues.

DraftKings Outfielders

Aaron Altherr - OF, at MIA ($3,700)

Altherr has been heating up recently, as he is hitting .313 with a .563 slugging percentage and a .934 slugging percentage over his last 10 games. He also has five extra-base hits and eight RBIs over that span. Tonight, he gets a good matchup against Jose Urena, and Altherr can be considered in all leagues.

Chad Pinder - OF, at SEA ($3,600)

Pinder is another player that has been playing at a high level recently. He leads the slate with an absurd 81% hard-hit rate over the last 15 days. He's also hitting over .500 in limited at-bats on the road this season. Pinder is a more consistent option against left-handed pitching, and he's cheap enough to be used in all leagues while he's playing this well.
