ANALYSIS: Week 7 was very disappointing for Dorial Green-Beckham and his owners, as well as the Tennessee Titans. Green-Beckham was coming off of a Week 6 game against Miami that saw his role expand, as he got three receptions on six targets for 57 yards against them. Harry Douglas was inactive for Week 7, and it looked as though Green-Beckham would have a chance to work even more alongside Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter. Well, Marcus Mariota was also inactive, and Zach Mettenberger really didn’t do anything good in relief of Mariota. All the same, DGB only saw one target in the game, which did not result in a reception.
The return of Mariota should help the entire Titans offense get it together, but this game may have really hurt DGB’s stock and his owners may be wavering or have already dropped him for this week’s hotter names. This game against the Falcons can probably be written off and ignored in the bigger picture, as they really couldn’t get anything going and Mettenberger is clearly not going to be their quarterback in most circumstances. The Titans get to face the horrid Texans’ secondary next, and then draw the lackluster Saints’ secondary in Week 9. Look for things to continue to trend upward for DGB as they had been for most of the season.
