It should come as no surprise, but with Lance Dunbar going on Injured Reserve with a torn ACL, Darren McFadden will take on an increased role in the Dallas Cowboys offense. According to ESPN's Ed Werder, McFadden will be the back to look out for in "passing situations."
Dunbar has been a big fantasy contributor so far this year, especially in PPR leagues. He's racked up 67 yards on just five carries and added an impressive 21 receptions before leaving the field in Week 5. McFadden hasn't impressed so far, averaging 3.5 yards per carry and totaling just three receptions so far, but he's been a legitimate passing threat throughout his career. He caught 36 balls for the Oakland Raiders last season and had 42 receptions in just 12 games in 2012.
The Cowboys have been crushed by injuries so far this season, with Lance Dunbar joining Dez Bryant and Tony Romo on the sidelines. Joseph Randle has been less than stellar in an offense that was expected to run the ball with ease, so McFadden's increased role opens up a door for the seven-year veteran to eat into Randle's workload.
