Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineup Picks (11/07/17): NHL DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

We have a nine game slate tonight, which should offer plenty of options at each position. There are some big favorites on slate according to Vegas, so you want to look there for a goalie.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/07/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

John Tavares - C, NYI vs EDM (DK - $7,900, FD - $8,600)

Tavares is on a bit of a heater recently, and you never walk away from a heater. He has eight points over his last four games, and is really showing his true potential this season. He is on the first forward line and the the first power-play unit, so ice time couldn't be higher. He is averaging about 3.5 shots per game, and is pretty clear, the Isles are focusing extra offense around him. Despite the rumors surrounding his contract situation, he is here to play, and is great for any format tonight.

Jonathan Drouin - C, MON vs VGK (DK - $5,600, FD - $6,000)

The Canadiens may have gotten off to a slow start this season, but Drouin, the young center is doing his best to cement himself as one of their top players. He has 11 points in 15 games this season, and is averaging three shots per game. He is on the second forward line and the second power-play unit so plenty of time to rack up some points. He is at home against Vegas, who played last night, and are down to their fourth string goalie due to injuries. Really good spot for Montreal to pick up a much needed win.

Phil Kessel - W, PIT vs ARI (DK - $6,600, FD - $8,100)

Kessel is averaging over four shots per game this season, along with one point per game. Really strong numbers from a player who is one the second forward line and the first power-play unit. When he isn't busy eating too many hot dogs, Kessel provides plenty of fantasy value, and is good for any format tonight. He makes a good tournament one off since he has goal upside, but also great in a stack since the Penguins offense can put up goals so easily.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Drew Doughty - D, LA @ ANH (DK - $5,500, FD - $5,600)

Doughty is one of the elite defenders in the league, and does a bit of everything in the stat sheet. He has 10 points in 14 games this season, averaging 3.5 shots per game, and has 19 blocked shots so far this season. Really strong numbers, and makes a great cash game option tonight. He is on the each of the top lines, and plays a ton of minutes, as in 29 minutes or more in three straight games. He is a workhorse and you want him in your lineup.

Johnny Boychuk - D, NYI vs EDM (DK - $4,100, FD - $4,500)

Boychuk isn't going to blow you away with his offensive ability, but he does everything else you need. He is averaging over two blocked shots per game, and over three shots per game. He has a cannon of a shot, and with being on the first defensive pairing, he should find the back of the net eventually.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Matt Murray - G, PIT vs ARI (DK - $8,300, FD - $9,000)

Arizona is one of the worst teams in the league, and they are on the second game of a back to back. Murray is at home and a massive -240 favorite according to Vegas. That is a huge line, which means he is almost a lock to pick up the win. He is giving up 2.8 goals per game, which is a bit higher than we would like to see. Good for any format tonight, but is expensive, so you have to find the salary to afford him.

Jaroslav Halak - G, NYI vs EDM (DK - $7,700, FD - $7,500)

Halak certainly isn't the most consistent goalie, but he is at home and a -125 favorite against Edmonton, who have 30 goals this season, which is dead last in the league. He makes a better GPP play tonight, but if you like a bit of risk, then take the savings and load him up for cash games.
