Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (11/02/17): NBA DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

Oh boy. A two-game slate. Can you imagine all the possibilities of a two-game slate?! You're right. There aren't many. With this upsetting slate of games, it is absolutely necessary you pick the most productive players. There is very small room for error, although the pendulum swings both ways. Finding those sleeper picks can hurt you just as much as they help you.

You do not want to pick the one player that every other player picked, and yes this happens all the time with sleeper picks. While the superstars like Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum, Kevin Durant are always great options, I am going to focus on lower-value options.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 11/02/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings. If you have any questions or comments, let me know @HalfCourtJester on Twitter. Let's get rolling.

DFS Guards to Consider

Jordan Clarkson - PG/SG, LAL @ POR (DK - $4,000, FD - $3,900)

All eyes might be on Lonzo Ball, and rightfully so. Ball gets plenty of minutes and produces, so do not hesitate to roster him. Generally I do advocate for Ball being a quality DFS option, but not tonight. The Trail Blazers are coming off an overtime loss to the Jazz and I see the second unit, lead by Clarkson, as being the focal point of the Lakers' offense. Clarkson is going to score no matter the opponent. The Trail Blazers struggle to guard facilitators and the Lakers struggle to contain scoring guards. There will be a lot of shots going around, and Clarkson is going to get his for a bargain.

Klay Thompson - SG, GS @ SA (DK - $6,700, FD - $6,800)

The Spurs gameplan better than any other team, but there is no gameplanning for Klay Thompson. You just hope he is missing on that particular night. Klay is always the third string scorer which works perfectly for him. It allows him to work to his catch-and-shoot strengths, while also allowing him to work in isolation whenever he is finally warm. Klay is always a candidate to explode, but he is also a high-upside option whose floor is unusually high. Thompson will always have great spacing on the Warriors, it's just a matter of how many points he will score.

DFS Forwards to Consider

Evan Turner - SG/SF, LAL @ POR (DK - $4,400, FD - $4,900)

Evan Turner was a major part of the Trail Blazers staying in the game last night. Damian Lillard shot the Trail Blazers back into the game, but Turner chipped away lead after lead by getting to the rim and hitting tough shots. This is what Turner was paid for, so expect a similar result. Although Portland went to overtime, Turner looked decently fresh and most importantly, he looked ready to keep going. The Lakers defense is sub-par so expect Turner to have a field day, even on a back-to-back.

Julius Randle - PF, LAL @ POR (DK - $4,700, FD - $4,700

Julius Randle has been coming off the bench to give a spark to the second unit, but that does not mean his production has been completely halted. He is still scoring and rebounding with ease, but the amount he scores has been significantly hindered. This should not scare you away from playing Randle, but it should highlight that his production might be limited. For as long as his price is below $5K, Randle is going to be a value play. This is an ideal matchup for Randle, especially against a Portland backcourt that lacks size.

DFS Centers to Consider

Jusuf Nurkic - C, LAL @ POR (DK - $5,900, FD - $7,400)

So, remember when I said the Portland frontcourt lacks size way back when? Yeah, Nurkic is a big part of that problem. He may not lack size, but defensively his agility does not cover up his weaknesses. Nurkic did not have a good game against the Jazz and will need to redeem himself. Brook Lopez and Julius Randle will be a handful on defense, but Nurkic will be able to get his shots off and get rebounds. His price is low for what he can produce, but he is also coming off a back-to-back and might see less minutes. If that concerns you, this next guy should be perfect.

Pau Gasol - C, GS @ SA (DK - $5,400, FD - $6,100)

Maybe not the most glamorous option, but there are not many centers that will give you Gasol's type of production for such a low price. Assuming you want to play Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, or Damian Lillard, playing Gasol at center can free up your cap room without adding too much risk. Gasol has been contributing in every category, and his ability to rack up blocks gives him a nice little boost that might sway you to play him. There are not many options at center so have your pick, but if you need to find value, Gasol or Nurkic are your best bets.
