Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Saturday 7/24

Akil Baddoo - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 7/24/21. Mike Marteny identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Welcome to another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs. Whether you are just trying to get that elusive category win or you are trying to make up for a lackluster start by Lucas Giolito last night, we can help. Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.

It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.

We have nine pitchers going that are rostered in more than 90% of ESPN leagues. Six more are owned in more than half of leagues. That leaves us exactly half of the pitchers today to choose from. There are some solid options at every level if you had an ace let you down this week. There's a lot of that going around lately.

Hitter Streamers for 7/24 - Shallow Leagues

Kike Hernandez (2B/OF, RHB, BOS) - 46.7% Rostered

Matchup: vs, NYY RHP Jameson Taillon

Kike is coming in hot, picking up eight hits in 17 tries over his last four games with three homers, eight RBI, and six runs scored. Granted, two of those games were in Buffalo, but still. Hernandez picked up two more hits against Gerrit Cole last night, so I'm not too worried about throwing him out there against an equally hot Jameson Taillon. There is a lot of potential for Kike atop this cruising Boston lineup.

Akil Baddoo (OF, LHB, DET) - 43% Rostered

Matchup: at KC RHP Carlos Hernandez

We here at RotoBaller have been touting Baddoo as a waiver pickup for the last couple of weeks, and unfortunately, not many have taken notice. Baddoo has come out of the break on an absolute tear. He has two homers, eight RBI, five runs scored, and a steal in six games. He's batting leadoff for a suddenly dangerous Detroit lineup. Don't snooze on him any longer. He'll be 80% rostered within a week.

Josh Harrison (2B/3B, RHB, WAS) - 40.7% Rostered

Matchup: at BAL RHP Matt Harvey

Harrison has come out of the break with a seven-game hitting streak during which he is hitting .379 with six runs scored and three RBI. He has never had a whole lot of power, but he's scoring runs and can provide a very nice average boost in the short term. Don't be fooled by Harvey's strong start against the Royals coming out of the break. He failed to make it through five innings in 11 of his last 12 starts before the break and allowed five runs or more in seven of those.

Joey Votto (1B, LHB, CIN) - 37.8% Rostered

Matchup: vs. STL RHP Jake Woodford

The 37-year-old Votto has also come out of the break strong. He is hitting .409 in those seven games with four runs scored, a homer, and four RBI. Votto's main strength in fantasy has always been his plus average and his ability to drive in runs. That's exactly what he's giving us right now.

Hitter Streamers for 7/24 - Deeper Leagues

Yandy Diaz (1B/3B, RHB, TB) - 12.5% Rostered

Matchup: at CLE RHP J.C. Mejia

Diaz entered the break hot and has come out of it equally scorching. He is hitting .350 since the break with two homers, four RBI, and four runs scored. Diaz is now hitting .350 in 11 July games with three homers and eight RBI. Ride him while he's hot, especially in a revenge series in Cleveland and Mejia's 7.53 ERA.

Harrison Bader (OF, RHB, STL) - 11.7% Rostered

Matchup: at CIN RHP Luis Castillo

I've made it a point to not go after Castillo for about the last six weeks, but I may have finally found a player facing him that is hotter than Castillo is. Bader is hitting .417 with a homer, five runs scored, and four RBI coming out of the All-Star break. The whole Cardinals lineup as a whole has performed much better lately. I'm willing to use pieces of the lineup a little more liberally.

Alex Dickerson (OF, LHB, SF) - 9.3% Rostered

Matchup: vs. PIT RHP Wil Crowe

This Giants lineup is without Brandon Belt, Evan Longoria, and Brandon Crawford. That means that guys like Dickerson who are normally buried in the lower third of the order are now getting the chance to showcase their skills in a more meaningful spot in the batting order. Dickerson is one of those guys who is taking advantage. He is hitting .300 with two homers and four RBI since the break in the strong side of an outfield platoon. Considering the recent struggles of Wil Crowe, I'll throw Dickerson in there and see if he can poach another homer.

Daulton Varsho (C/OF, LHB, ARI) - 6.2% Rostered

Matchup: at CHC RHP Alec Mills

We are getting a glimpse of why Varsho is one of Arizona's best prospects right now. He has six hits in his last 11 at-bats with two homers, five runs scored, and five RBI. Varsho is one of the few things going right with the Arizona offense right now and will get a chance to start against every righty for the near future. If Arizona is able to get to Mills, who is pitching well of late, I'd be willing to bet that Varsho is front and center against the team his dad broke into the majors with.

Pitcher Streamers for 7/24 - Shallow Leagues

Tony Gonsolin (RHP, LAD) - 44% rostered

Matchup: vs. Colorado

The Dodgers have stretched Gonsolin out to around 80 pitches over his last couple of starts. The problem is that he is incredibly inefficient with his allotment of pitches. He has only managed 7.1 innings over his last two starts combined thanks to five free passes. Gonsolin does have strikeout upside, but he needs to limit the baserunners to give us any shot at a win. The good news is that the Rockies are one of the most free-swinging teams in the league and they are hitting a pathetic .207 away from Coors Field. There is enough potential to give Gonsolin a look. Even if he doesn't go five, he should give us some solid strikeout numbers and help the ERA a little bit.

Pitcher Streamers for 7/24 - Deeper Leagues

Alec Mills (RHP, CHC) - 4.3% rostered

Matchup: vs. Arizona

The good news is that Mills hasn't given up more than three runs in any of his appearances this year. The bad news is that he has only been in the rotation for six starts and has only come out for the sixth inning twice and failed to finish it both times. Mills has racked up 20 strikeouts over his last three starts while allowing six runs and both of his ventures into the sixth inning were in that span. Considering that Arizona is facing the Cubs for the fifth time since the break and have only scored 12 runs in the first four games, I'm comfortable throwing Mills out there.
