Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Hitter, Pitcher Lineup Picks for Sunday 7/4

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 7/4/21. Mike Marteny identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Welcome to another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs. Whether you are just trying to get that elusive category win or you are trying to make up for Freddy Peralta or other aces getting smacked this week, we can help. Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.

It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.

We have nine pitchers owned in more than 90% of leagues and another six that are owned in more than half of ESPN leagues. That leaves us a touch over half the field to choose from since there is an Independence Day double-dip in the Big Apple.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 7/4 - Shallow Leagues

Myles Straw (OF, RHB, HOU) - 39.7% Rostered

Matchup: at CLE RHP Cal Quantrill

Straw is hitting .353 with a homer, four RBI, four steals, and 10 runs scored over the last two weeks. He is a cheap piece of an offense that averaged six runs a game in June and scored 10 runs or more seven times. The Astros as a whole were cooking in June and that has carried over into July with five homers and 16 runs in three games. Straw has been getting on base a lot, which means he will definitely help you in steals and runs scored. Those can be two of the tougher categories to pick up in 5x5 leagues.

Willy Adames (SS, RHB, MIL) - 34.4% Rostered

Matchup: at PIT LHP Tyler Anderson

Adames hit the ground running with the Brewers after being traded from the Rays and he hasn't really stopped. Adames is hitting .379 with four  homers, a steal, ten runs scored, and 11 RBI in the last nine games alone. His average exit velocity has been over 90 mph in all but one game (where it was 89 mph) since the Summer Solstice. This production isn't a fluke with him hitting the ball this hard. And, well, the Pirates are like facing batting practice right now.

Andrew Vaughn (1B/OF, RHB, CWS) - 32.9% Rostered

Matchup: at DET RHP Matt Manning

Manning has been pounded so far in the majors. Hey, it happens. Even Vaughn struggled to start the year. That isn't the case anymore. Vaughn is riding a five-game hit streak in which he is 9-for-17 with two homers, five RBI, and six runs scored. Do you really think Manning is getting him out three times? Me either. Then Vaughn should get at least one at bat against the worst bullpen on earth.

Kike Hernandez (2B, RHB, BOS) - 28.2% Rostered

Matchup: at OAK RHP James Kaprielian

Kike started a little slowly in Boston, but he is heating up with the weather. He is hitting .385 with four homers, six runs scored, and eight RBI this week. Hernandez is leading off for a Boston offense that is improving at well. It's worth riding the hot streak, especially at a weak position where you more than likely have a struggling player.

Hitter Streamers for 7/4 - Deeper Leagues

Jake Fraley (OF, LHB, SEA) - 11.9% Rostered

Matchup: vs. TEX RHP Mike Foltynewicz

Fraley is mostly in a platoon role right now, but he's looking pretty good in it. He is 7-for-22 with three homers, two steals, four runs scored, and six RBI over his last seven starts. He is definitely worth using when he's in the lineup. The power/speed combo is very hard to find on waivers.

Starlin Castro (2B/3B, RHB, WAS) - 10.3% Rostered

Matchup: at LAD RHP Edwin Uceta

We see this about once a year, don't we? Castro has a five-game hitting streak and has at least one hit in all but two games over the last two weeks. Castro is hitting .367 in that span with a homer, ten RBI, and eight runs scored. This is Castro's moment of relevance for this season, so ride it until it's over. That shouldn't end today. Uceta's first start didn't go well as he gave up five runs in 1.2 innings to Arizona.

Jackie Bradley Jr. (OF, LHB, MIL) - 8.1% Rostered

Matchup: at PIT LHP Tyler Anderson

Bradley is riding a six-game  hitting streak in which he is 9-for-25 with a homer, four RBI, two steals, and three runs scored. Bradley doesn't usually provide much in counting stats aside from runs, but he is riding a hot streak and has stolen a base in each of the last two games. He's worth a dart if you're looking to pick up your average or poach a steal.

Jace Peterson (1B/2B/OF, LHB, MIL) - 6.8% Rostered

Matchup: at PIT LHP Tyler Anderson

Peterson is hitting .458 with a homer, eight runs scored, two steals, and 11 RBI in just the last week. Peterson has driven in at least one run in six straight games, including six in the first three games with Pittsburgh already. He likes facing Pirates pitching, and I think you'll like what he does for your fantasy team on the final day of your matchup.

Pitcher Streamers for 7/4 - Shallow Leagues

Zach Thompson (RHP, MIA) - 37.3% rostered

Matchup: at Atlanta

Thompson does get a park downgrade here, but it is worth noting that he has a 1.50 ERA across his first four major league starts. Two of the three runs that he has allowed were in his first start. That includes one start against the Braves in Miami on June 12. Thompson went five scoreless, giving up just four hits and no walks while striking out six. Even adding in the park factor, Thompson should at the very least provide some much-needed strikeouts without ruining ratios.

Chris Flexen (RHP, SEA) - 28.6% rostered

Matchup: vs. Texas

Flexen has posted a 2.45 ERA and 1.05 WHIP since the A's tagged him for five runs back on June 2. He also beat the Rangers twice in May, shutting them out for seven innings in the game in Seattle. We can work with this. Flexen is not a high strikeout guy and that WHIP can sometimes hurt, so this is mainly for if you desperately need a win. He's not going to help in strikeouts and might not help your ratios much. Given the way that he has pitched in the last month though, he shouldn't really hurt them either.

Pitcher Streamers for 7/4 - Deeper Leagues

Caleb Smith (LHP, ARI) - 22.2% rostered

Matchup: vs. San Francisco

Smith has posted a solid 2.87 ERA in his six games as a starter with 35 strikeouts in 32.1 innings pitched. The bad news? He hasn't won any of those games. Hey, blame the offense, not him. Smith is pitching well enough to get wins with the exception of the game against the Angels. The Giants are a solid team, but at least Smith gets to pitch in prime time instead of the heat of the day. He should at least be able to help you with strikeouts and maybe a little bit of ratio help even if he wont get you a win.
