Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (10/9/17): MLB DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

We're finally in the MLB Playoffs, which means we have small slates that we can take advantage of. It will be difficult to make unique lineups, but hopefully this article can help accomplish that.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/9/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider

Luis Severino - NYY vs CLE (DK - $9,700, FD - $9,700)

You can believe in the redemption side of things for Severino, who had a horrible first start this season, or you can believe in the fact he is truly a good pitcher, and has good starts against the Indians this year. Hint, go with the latter. In his two starts vs the Indians this season, Severino put up this stat line: 13.1 IP, 6 HITS, 18 SO, 4 ER. Amazing line there, and averaged well over one strikeout per inning. He put up seven or more strikeouts in eight of his last 11 regular season starts. Many DFS player might be afraid to roster him after his rough outing, but you want to win a GPP, you have to take a stand on a player with some risk.

DFS Infielders to Consider

Jake Lamb - 3B, ARI vs LOS (DK - $3,700, FD - $2,800)

I might be a bit of a Jake Lamb truther, but I don't know how his price is this low. Yes, he is facing a top tier pitcher, but he crushes right-handed pitching. He has a .386 wOBA and a .270 ISO this season vs RHP. In the Wild Card game vs the Rockies Lamb had four hits, and in Game 2 vs the Dodgers, he had two his, (he didn't start in Game 1 vs Dodgers). So in his two postseason games he has six hits. At home in a great hitters park, this is the time to roster him.

Anthony Rizzo - 1B, CHC vs WAS (DK - $3,800, FD - $3,800)

Rizzo is going against Max Scherzer today, but I'm under the impression that Scherzer isn't fully healthy. No idea what has been going on with him the last two months of the season, but he just doesn't look right. If there is going to a right-handed pitcher, who is struggling, facing the Cubs, there is one lefty hitter I want, cue Rizzo music. He has a .382 wOBA and a .230 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, and you get him at a decreased price today.

DFS Outfielders to Consider

Josh Reddick - HOU @ BOS (DK - $4,000, FD - $2,700)

Reddick is up against Rick Porcello, who is giving up a .360 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season, along with 1.97 HR/9 to lefties. Those are horrible numbers for a pitcher coming off a CY Young season. Reddick is cheap on FanDuel, and on a short slate, any bit of savings can help. He has a .363 wOBA vs right-handed pitchers this season, and has four hits through the first three games of this series.

Brett Gardner - NYY vs CLE (DK - $3,800, FD - $2,700)

Gardner has 29 plate appearances vs Trevor Bauer in his career, and has a .355 wOBA from such appearances. He also has a .414 OBP vs Bauer, so he is getting on base, which is exactly what the Yankees need in this game. He isn't that expensive, and has some sneaky home run upside with the short wall in New York.
