Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (6/21/20) - DraftKings, Daily Fantasy

Max Kulish's DraftKings. FanDuel DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 6/21/20. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to our coverage of Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS picks for FanDuel and DraftKings.

We finish out the weekend with the final day of the BLAST Spring Series Finals. We will see Vitality and FaZe face off for the chance to play Complexity in the grand finals for EU, and MIBR taking on EG to crown the winner of the NA finals. Both of these series are rematches of games played within the last few days so there should be plenty of action and excitement!

Today I'll be bringing you my Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Thursday, June 21st, 2020 at 10:30 AM. Be sure to also check out our awesome CS:GO Premium DFS Tools including our Lineup Optimizer, Research Station, Projections, and DFS Cheat Sheets! Feel free to follow me on Twitter @Maxadelphia as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions. Good luck RotoBallers!

BLAST Premier Series (Best of Three)

  • FaZe (-130) vs Vitality (-105)
  • MIBR vs EG

CS:GO DFS Captain Considerations

Zywoo - $13,500 (c) - After going a combined -4 K/D in their 0-2 series loss against FaZe a mere three days ago, Zywoo will be looking to bounce back in this matchup for a spot in the grand finals. To find the last time Zywoo went net negative K/D in a series, you'll have to go back nearly 4 months to a 0-2 loss at the hands of Astralis, and in his next series against Astralis he finished +8 in a 2-1 loss.

To find the last time he went net negative in two straight series against any opponent you need to go back all the way to July 2019. Basically, what I'm saying is, regardless of the result of the series, you can expect Zywoo to show up and put up some numbers.

Fallen - $12,600 (c) - Fallen and MIBR will take on EG for the second time in three days looking to capture their second straight event win after beating out FURIA in the BLAST Spring Premier Americas Showdown final to qualify for the Spring Americas Finals.

In the past three months, Fallen has the highest rating out of any of the players on either team (1.15). In 12 career maps against this EG lineup, Fallen has a +45 K/D and a 1.09 rating, with his next best teammate having an even K/D and 1.00 rating. You want your captain to be flexible enough to put up solid numbers, even with their team not performing and Fallen is MIBR's rock, especially against EG.

Other captain plays: Niko, Fer

CS:GO DFS Value Plays

apEX - $6,200 - Since Vitality and FaZe played a few days ago, apEX has been on an absolute tear. In the two series he's played since taking on FaZe, he is a combined +20 K/D and all 5 maps he's played have seen him post a 1.00+ rating, including the only game he went negative. Surprisingly, apEX was Vitality's best player against FaZe in their previous series, with him finishing at an even K/D (best on his team), and saw him finish a touch below Shox in terms of overall rating (1.03 to 1.02). apEX isn't afraid to throw himself into the action and create for his teammates, so he has great influence in the game and is a very viable candidate to rack up first kill bonuses.

Ethan - $6,600 - Ethan did everything in his power to try and drag EG to a series win against MIBR a few days ago, although his efforts ended up falling short in a 1-2 series loss. In that series, he was the only member of EG to go positive at +11, he finished top of his team's scoreboard in every map, and had a 1.27 series rating while the next highest on his team was a .95.

We can be very optimistic this isn't just a flash in the pan from Ethan either; in 26 career maps vs MIBR Ethan holds a 1.19 rating, and in the smaller sample size against this iteration of MIBR, that rating is 1.2 over 6 maps. With such a small slate, getting your value plays correct to maximize exposure to the heavy hitters is key, and Ethan can be a great asset in what should be another scrappy, competitive series between the two teams.

Other value plays:  Shox, CeRq, Coldzera

Top CS:GO DFS Stacks

Vitality - Vitality typically goes as Zywoo does, but since the BLAST Spring Finals have started that hasn't been as true. Shox and apEX have both elevated their game since the Finals began, and bring enough balance to the team that other teams can't put all of their efforts into slowing Zywoo down. FaZe are in familiar territory finding themselves in the consolation finals after initially being the favorites in the upper bracket finals. FaZe went through a roster change only 26 days ago, and Vitality's improving cohesion as a unit (and Zywoo) should be enough to get them to the grand finals.

MIBR - The BLAST Spring Series has seen MIBR be the most consistently impressive teams over both regions. After not losing a game or series yet between the Showdown and Finals portions of the tournament, MIBR and their new roster seem to be settling in together in-game. Winning back-to-back events would be a huge accomplishment for this recently revamped roster, and after seeing EG edge out Furia in the semi-finals, knowing EG's inconsistencies I like MIBR to take it home.

Other stacks/teams: I think both of these series will be 2-1, so target which team you think will win but look for exposure to the other side as well.
