Cooper Kupp (WR, LAR) - Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: The Los Angeles Rams might be the most impressive team thus far this season. Following a disastrous 2016 campaign that saw them go 4-12, coach Jeff Fisher was fired and Sean McVay was brought in. The results thus far have been terrific, as the team has gotten off to a 3-1 start and quarterback Jared Goff looks very much like the number one draft pick that he is. While the arrival of Sammy Watkins has played a role in his success, rookie wideout Cooper Kupp has also played a major role in the offense’s turnaround.

The 24-year-old Eastern Washington product currently leads all rookie wide receivers both in catches and yards, a sensational start for the third rounder. Kupp has seen at least six targets in three of the team's four games and is coming off a victory over the Dallas Cowboys that saw him make five catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. He’s clearly already forming a strong rapport with his quarterback and appears to be the second wideout option behind Watkins.

Along with his offense, Kupp is an emerging receiver who could see continued progress as we move forward. He simply has plenty of opportunity, and with a quarterback on the rise, he appears poised for plenty of looks. After a home matchup with the dreaded Seattle Seahawks this upcoming week, Kupp and the Rams play the Jaguars, Cardinals and New York Giants in the ensuing three games. Even further down the line, there are second matchups with the Niners and Cardinals as well as a matchup with the New Orleans Saints. Look for Kupp to remain a top rookie wide receiver and solid waiver wire pickup.
