Consider Trading Andrew Luck, T.Y. Hilton and Other Colts Before Value Sinks Further

Have you ever seen the movie Titanic?  You know the one about the glorious, giant ship that hits an iceberg and sinks?  The Indianapolis Colts are the Titanic, and Andrew Luck is playing Leonardo DiCaprio's character Jack, clinging to wreckage and fighting for his life.

Let's be honest, the Indianapolis Colts have been one of the most disappointing teams so far this season, and Andrew Luck has been one of the most disappointing players.  The dynamic Colts offense that was fantasy gold in the past now looks like it would leave a green ring around your finger.  Many analysts, reporters, Colts fans and football fans in general are blaming their struggles on various things like the offensive line, Chuck Pagano, Andrew Luck's ribs, etc.  Whatever the case may be, the Colts offense looks broken in many ways, and that isn't good for fantasy owners.

Fortunately, I don't have any Colts on my fantasy teams this year.  If you own guys like Andrew Luck, T.Y. Hilton, Frank Gore, Donte Moncrief, Andre Johnson and Coby Fleener, consider trading them before their value decreases even further.  If you aren't ready to give up on the Colts yet, by all means hang onto whatever players you own.  If it were me, however, I would shop around and see what I could get in return.

I see Luck and the Colts continuing to struggle, which will directly affect many of the skill players in Indianapolis.  Wide receivers like T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief and Andre Johnson have all had good games this season, but they lack week-to-week consistency because of how poorly Andrew Luck and the offensive line have played.  A struggling passing game usually doesn't help the running game either, which is why running back Frank Gore hasn't had a 100-yard rushing game so far this season.

Shopping around before the trade deadline in your league is never a bad idea.  Test the waters and see what you could get in return for an Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton pairing or a Frank Gore straight up offer.  If you're optimistic, you'll have faith in the Colts because of their favorable strength of schedule down the stretch and the fact that they're in an incredibly weak division.  They still have games this season against Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Houston, Miami and Tennessee.  Perhaps the Colts will turn it around, but I would feel more comfortable come playoff time having more reliable options on my team.
