BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 12% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: Marlins left-hander Caleb Smith is an inning away from starting off the 2019 campaign with three straight quality starts, having only gone five innings in his season debut. His last outing was a beauty, tossing six shutout innings with only one hit and three walks allowed, while striking out six against the Phillies.
Smith has a 2.65 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, 32.3 K% and 9.2 BB% in his three starts this year, facing the Mets, Braves and Phillies. So those who were concerned that the NL East was going to make life hard on Smith have thus far been proven wrong.
Smith still has some walk issues, which will ultimately hold him back from being a bonafide fantasy ace, but the way he is dealing right now makes him a must-stream option in virtually every format, and an ownable fantasy asset in 14+ team leagues. I don't hate the idea of holding him in 12-teamers either, although he is going to have some clunkers now and again.
