ANALYSIS: Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Brian Johnson pitching for the 90-win Red Sox does not hurt his fantasy stock. When you can find a pitcher on the best team in baseball, you take it. Johnson’s stats are not horrible, either. He hqs allowed three earned runs, or less, in three straight appearances. However, the strikeout numbers are not the best. He has punched out a total of six batters in the past 11 innings of work.
Why we are recommending Johnson is because he is a two start pitcher for Week 22. His opponents, the Marlins and White Sox, also not exactly the most fearsome foes, putting Johnson in a place to be successful. Both teams are in the bottom seven in runs scored and the top-12 in team strikeouts this season. If Johnson can take advantage of these team's free swinging ways, he will be a solid streamer in deeper leagues.
