ANALYSIS: Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brent Suter returned from the DL to pitch on Saturday and allowed one earned run in five runs. After this good start, he will be lined up to start a couple games in Week 16, after the All-Star break.
Suter has struck out at least five batters in three straight starts and, even though he has allowed at least four earned runs in back-to-back games, he is still solud. Prior to those two bad performances, however, he allowed three earned runs, or less, in seven consecutive outings. We can hope those two poor performances were caused by the forearm injury that placed Suter on the 10-day disabled list.
He should face the Nationals in Milwaukee and Giants in San Francisco in Week 16. The Giants are a particularly nice matchup for Suter, as the Giants are 23rd in team wOBA (.302) against left-handed pitchers, 22nd in runs scored (387 runs in 95 games), and eighth in team strikeouts (835) this season.
