BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 9% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: A relatively unheralded catching prospect for the Marlins, the Mariners signed Austin Nola as a minor league free agent this winter, and promoted him to the big league roster in June.
While he is no longer a primary catcher, Nola has hit his way onto the fantasy radar with a .329/.384/.582 slash line, along with four home runs and 10 RBI in 34 games played.
Nola is primarily playing first base, although he's started at second base and behind the plate as well, while also seeing some time at third base and in the outfield.
He's off to a bit of a rough start in August, but it looks like Nola will have a starting role on this team going forward. If he keeps hitting well he's likely to earn a spot hitting in the top third of the order, which would give his fantasy value an even bigger boost.
In leagues where he is still catcher eligible, he's worth a look in 14+ team leagues. If he's only infield or outfield eligible, he's still worth a roster spot in AL-only and similarly deep formats while he's swinging a hot stick.
