The Washington Redskins backfield has been tough to figure out this year, but things should be a little easier in Week 6. Matt Jones has been officially declared inactive against the New York Jets. The Redskins will have a tough time moving the ball in either phase of the game against a tough Jets defense, but when they run the ball, it will be Alfred Morris getting the carries.
Last week, Jones saw a good amount of action with 11 carries and one reception, but he managed just 20 rushing yards and 37 total yards with a short touchdown to boost his production. Morris, who has been the team's lead back for the past few years, played a secondary role with just 15 yards on eight carries.
Morris has three consecutive years with over 1,000 yards, but his most productive season was his rookie year in 2012 where he had over 1,600 yards on 335 carries. That was expected to lead to huge things for the big back out of Florida Atlantic University, but this year, he has split the workload with Jones and the third-down back Chris Thompson.
