BALLER MOVE: Add In All Leagues
OWNED IN: 40% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The never-ending saga of Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension took another turn this week as it was reinstated. While there’s still a chance that the suspension is once again put off, it appears more likely that it’ll latch on for good and Elliott will finally be forced to serve it. That, of course, has an enormous effect in the fantasy football game, as the Cowboys will turn to a different running back to lead the ground game. That man is likely to be Alfred Morris, the 28-year-old former Redskins player.
The Dallas Cowboys rank second in the league in rush offense, and while Morris is not the dynamic back that Elliott is, he has managed 105 yards on 13 carries this season. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated himself that Morris would get more carries, and with Dallas’ offensive line, he lands in a perfect situation to produce at a strong rate. Perhaps the best thing going for Morris will be his goal line runs, which he seems poised for plenty of.
Nine weeks into the season, it gets increasingly difficult to pick up a top-level running back, but that appears to be the exact situation we find ourselves in. Of course, Elliot will eventually return by the time leagues are in their playoff rounds. Regardless, Morris can be the reason fantasy owners get there. Don’t hesitate to add him and start him as soon as possible.
