ANALYSIS: We'll start off right away with the disclaimer: The Titans have a slow-paced, run-first offense led by an inaccurate and injury-prone quarterback in Marcus Mariota. Rookie A.J. Brown, a second-round pick this spring, caught three passes for 100 yards in his NFL debut in Week 1. He came back down to Earth in Week 2 with three catches for 25 yards.
Tight end Delanie Walker and No. 1 receiver Corey Davis are playing basically twice as many snaps as the rookie through two games, but Brown has only three fewer targets than Walker and one less than Davis. He's been much more efficient than Davis, too, catching six of his nine targets while Davis has hauled in just three of his 10 chances.
There will surely be growing pains in this offense and Brown has a limited ceiling -- Mariota has attempted less than 30 passes in each of the first two games -- but it's looking like the Ole Miss alum already has more upside than Davis. The 22-year-old is worth stashing as a WR4/5. He could put up some decent lines if the Titans are playing from behind and forced to pass.
