Andrew Vaughn Starting At First Base On Friday
3 years agoChicago White Sox rookie first baseman Andrew Vaughn is earning his first career postseason start on Friday. He'll be batting seventh and covering first base in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Houston Astros. Gavin Sheets handled first base duties in the team's Game 1 loss and he went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. The White Sox are going up against left-hander Framber Valdez on Friday. The right-handed Vaughn had a fantastic .555 slugging percentage against lefties this year and he was 3-for-5 with a home run against Valdez. He could be a dangerous bat in the lower-third of the White Sox lineup in Game 2.
