Framber Valdez Plagued By Walks In July
3 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez is in the midst of a rough stretch on the mound. He has a 5.24 ERA over four starts and 22.1 innings in July. He's been allowing a ton of baserunners over that four-start stretch, giving up 27 hits and 15 walks. Much of Valdez's success in 2020 came due to his ability to limit baserunners. He had a 1.12 WHIP in 2020 to go along with a 4.8 K/BB rate. This year, his WHIP is 1.32 while his K/BB rate is 2.3. He has a strong 3.26 ERA on the year, but it'll be tough to keep that down if the walks continue.
